Yup, interesting. I don't know why the author of that article seems to be looking down on the 5.7L main. I think this is a great motor and I could give a damn what the other jackholes are offering.

I had a 2010 Tacoma DCSB Sport and had a 2016 DCSB Sport on order. When the chance to drive a 2016 Tacoma came up, I drove one.

I was underwhelmed. Despite nearly 50 additional horsepower I couldn't feel any difference. Gas mileage ratings are up about 3mpg across the board for 2016 but owners on TW are not seeing those type of numbers in real life.

The truck did seem a bit quieter inside which was a pleasant surprise, but it just wasn't enough for me and I cancelled my order and bought a Tundra.

My guess is there will be very little difference between a '16 and a '17.

Nothing has been released and those are all speculations. I predict no big changes until the next deadline on government regulations on mpg. Think that is 2018 or 2020.
