Yeah, I'm pretty heated over it right now. I definitely am going to have some words with my salesman whenever he gets back from vacation, or whatever they claim for him not being there right now.

As for the grill, yes, it came with the TRD style. Now, it does not have the recessed TRD in the upper driver's side area, but it is the TRD style. You can see in the pictures exactly how it looked when I bought it.

In all honesty, I never even looked into all of this until trying to figure out the whole volume knob issue.
I have recently looked up my VIN through the Toyota website to see the actual build, and as I am sure you already know, I do NOT have a TRD OR equipped Tundra. I have an SR5. Here's where things get extremely confusing to me. It shows that at the "Port" the 20" TRD wheels and different tires were installed. It states that I have an 8" multimedia screen (there are other options that are listed as well, but I cannot get the website to pull up the vehicle's specs off the VIN right now). I definitely have the 14" screen as seen in the pictures I previously posted. So all I can figure is the dealership swapped out the screens, or the Toyota website for my VIN specs is wrong, and the dealership also put the TRD OR stickers on the rear of the bed (No, I did not put them on). If the dealership swapped the screen to the larger one, then they coded it to the VIN because I have had Toyota Connected services since the day I bought it. If the dealership had nothing to do with the head unit and the website is incorrect for vehicle specs per the VIN (8" screen vs 14" screen) then I got the tarded unicorn that did not come with the volume knob from the factory as well as does not have the plug and harness to connect a volume knob and module.
I have called my salesman and am waiting a return call from him. Hopefully he can shed some light, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

The Tundra TRD OR is an SR5, with the TRD OR package. Toyota makes it so confusing. Tundras TRD OR and TRD Sport (prior to 2025) are both SR5s, but then with Tacomas the SR5 and TRD OR are totally separate. The grill you have was definitely switched, but it can still be a TRD OR. I have a TRD Sport that shows up as an SR5.

@CRFL82 you'll have to go back a read the previous posts and you'll understand why I said "I have an SR5." You are correct that the TRD OR is an additional option package, but any of the models can be equipped with the TRD OR package. It is not exclusive to an SR5.

How much did the dealer charge Yall to sync the vin?

So i did the OEM swap and everything works great…other than the reverse grid doesn’t work…it will flash every once in a while when I first shift into reverse and then disappears. Had it at the dealer to do a Quick Look….software etc is current.

Anyone encountered this by chance?

Just installed mine after picking one up on eBay. Tried cutting the vents but don’t like the fit. Does anyone know the OE part number? My search and Google didn’t come up with anything.

If you mean the plastic covers, it’s in this thread somewhere. Check post 233

nope, would check the connections on back of radio. Could have a short in the wires though if intermittently cutting off

Pretty sure that grill is for a TRD Pro.
God, I love a good mystery…

Btw, you probably have a good case to go to your state’s consumer protection or DA department as fraud.
Also contact Toyota’s customer care to inform them about this.
If nothing else, threaten the dealer with those actions to get answers and some money back.

I HATE screens that pop up over the dash like some afterthought, although I had no choice with the Limited trim. If the real estate was used well that’s one thing, but the bigger screen only seems to give us abnormally large elderly mode
