Hi, I am interested in just installing the hookups so that my tablet becomes the car stereo and backup cam if possible and be completely removable.

I saw a random thread on another forum of someone making the "head unit" out of Plexiglas and epoxy and wonder if that is an option? I am a sucker for utility and not having a stereo permanently mounted sounds like a good security feature. Besides, i bought my truck at an auction and the stereo is already gone!

So: Plexi and epoxy + ??? hookups ??? = what kind of shopping list?

I have read about the backup cam hookup already being there, so this sounds like it could be done DIY style. The tablet will be the upcoming (May, strangely excited, I love small tabs!) 8" Huawei m5 pad. I believe it to be a USBC port only on the tab. Any ideas generally or specifically are appreciated.

I saw this video and am intrigued...

That's a very slick set up. In for answers.
