I installed these lights a few months ago and was very happy with them, BUT, I had some extra LED lights laying around so I added them to the bed. I'll post pictures later. Pretty damn bright in there now.

If I'm looking at this thread correctly, the Toyota OEM bed light kit only includes two lights -- one on the driver side, and one on the passenger. Is that correct?

If so, now that you've had it installed for a couple of years, are you still happy with it? I am worried only two LEDs would not sufficiently light up the whole bed space in comparison to, say, an LED strip from Matt Geckco's kit, or another. Do you feel like you're getting full lighting coverage from the OEM kit?

Also, are the bulbs themselves replaceable without having to take out/replace the whole thing?

I've only had mine a few months, they are bright enough but no, they aren't gonna light the bed up to the point you need sunglasses. These are LEDs, so no, you cannot replace bulbs.

Thanks. I meant the LED portion of the whole enclosure and whether or not it can be replaced with a different LED, or if the whole enclosure has to be taken out and rewired to replace it.

Honestly, if you have 2 spare rock light pods, you can wire them up in the same place as the stock light placements and have better lighting. I plan on doing this.

Looks good. I'm running an MX4 cover plus a bedrug, so I'm worried about not having enough light.

Which rock lights did you go with?

Would it be feasible to wire them to come on/off with the cargo light, door is opened, or keyfob is used to unlock -- like the OEM bed light kit?

Really digging this thread. Definitely need to add one of those lights to mines since the bed is always dark with having a tonneau cover blocking out the cargo light at night.

My truck already had these installed when I bought it new. Just noticed tonight, neither one of them are working. Gonna dig into the wiring harness tomorrow and see what's going on.

I know when I installed mine I used posi-taps to connect to OEM wiring.
The OEM wiring is very small and it was hard to get a good connection.
Mine come on with the bed cargo lights.

Hopefully, you just have a bad connection somewhere..

Try these. They worked really well on the super thin gauge wire I was using tonight (22 AWG).

My truck had these lights installed when I got it. I like the look however only one-half row of LEDs lights up and on only one light. Wondering what the life span is and what the best replacement option is?

Can you replace the LEDs only?
Would I need to buy new lights and completely re-wire or maybe splice to my existing wiring?
