I’m still very curious about your long tube install. How is your exhaust set up behind the long tubes? Example: 2.5” pipes going into an xpipe into (insert brand) mufflers and then going out of the back of the truck.

It looks like it’s pointing towards the block. Or I’m just seeing it wrong:cool: How does it look compared to the drivers side? Do you think you’d be able to back it out and change it?

Yeah as long as there is physical room to remove it outward, it’s all about the right tools

I'll give it a shot but that's the only issue I could see is not physically being able to back it out.

    It does face the block.

I'll report back when I put the cat back on.

JBA long tube headers, JBA Y pipe, JBA exhaust and muffler. No resonator, no cats.
Had to cut some flanges off the Y pipe and add some chunks of stainless to have it all match up and such

I do not. Currently raining and gross outside. When it gets nice and if there's still interest I can

Great header write up Tyler Brown. Love your answer (something about spending $100 on BBQ sauce for yummy pork). I wonder if the 2006 & earlier trucks take some real miles for the gains to be felt. One write up particularly, on a 3rd gen., talks about how after quite a few miles, a great teal of power was felt. I will find it and link it.

Thank you for the nice write up.

I had my battery unhooked for the whole process. Since these trucks are suppose to "learn". So I dont know if over time has any side effect in this instance. But I suppose we shall see.
I did the timing belt, water pump, changed air filter, spark plugs, dirtydeeds 12 hole injectors and the exhaust. I figured unhooking the battery and trying to have a "fresh restart" would be beneficial with the things I did.

Hmm, no cats and no resonators? How’s the cab drone?

Fine. That was an issue with me. I never wanted a loud truck. And thankfully it's not. I can hear the valve train more now than I could with the stock exhaust. And when I do floor it, it's got some nice notes. I do get some weird harmonic that rarely happens, which is as easy as lifting my foot and resuming speed and it's gone.

How’d the removal go on the Pass side o2 Sensor? Easy access without removing the header?

I never got around to do this. I will see if I can do that this weekend.

    Just an update.
After installing magnum o2 sensor simulators, that were way to expensive and only lasted a few months. I've finally bought 2 new o2 sensors, & bungs from the auto parts store, and ordered some o2 simulators (spacers) off of Amazon. Marked where I wanted them mounted, Pulled the one side of my exhaust off so I didn't have to pull my whole exhaust off, and welded the bungs on, and drilled some holes. Re-installed, cleared my codes, and everything seems to be good so far! No CEL.
Will update when I drive the truck more. (Being the offroad truck it sits unused for long periods of time)

Still no codes? Assuming those are A/F sensors in front of 02 sensors? What is the thought process for placing them in the mid pipe and with a defouler? My JBA LT headers came with ports at the very end that can be reached easily. Did you ever find wiring harness extensions? Michigan Motorsports has them at a good price.

The bungs in the long tube headers is where the A/F sensors went. There were no other bungs for the o2 sensors anywhere else on my new exhaust. And since I cut my cat & resonators out with the old exhaust that's just where I opted to put them in for future easy access. AFTER trying the magnum o2 sensor simulators. They worked for a couple months...than stopped.
And no, no longer harness, just ended up making them my self. I'll check out that Michigan motorsports though. Thanks!

These are both your 02 sensors?

    That is correct.
Since I tried the magnums first this route was an after thought. Drivers side of the exhaust I could take out just a section of it and drill and weld. IF I wanted to do passenger side I would have had to remove pretty much my whole exhaust. So. Figured why not put em both on one side
