Just wait sir. The shocks and technology aren’t changing anytime soon nor is the Tundra.
If you put them on now, you will be charged labor. Then a few weeks from now you will be charged again for labor to move the same exact part you could have done once all at the same time to get it right and level.

I ordered the 6112s kit , installed on the 16th....question....I’m having them set at 1:92....Can that be easily adjusted later?

    Yes Steve, here ya go.

    HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
    It all levels out.
Multiple OEM specified snap ring grooves are featured on select off-road shock absorbers for quick and easy adjustment to your vehicle’s ride height. Shock absorbers with snap-ring ride height adjustment technology are an affordable and better alternative to coil spring spacers when leveling out the front end of your light truck or SUV.

Wait, I thought you had to remove them to adjust them though unlike others where you can adjust them while installed? (King, Icon). I could be incorrect though. But when removed the adjustment is easy as described above.

They'll have to be removed to place the snap ring in a different groove on the shock body.

Adjusted yes, easily no. Icon, King, Toytec Boss, etc, can be adjusted while on the truck. The 6112 would have to be removed and the spring compressed. Personally, I would add a shim or two to get more lift before I had the entire thing re-assembled.

Or you can just set @ max height. :transformer:

Ok figured I would continue in this 6112 thread. Ordered 6112's @ max height. Also ordered 1 CB Shim and CB bump stops to replace factory. 5100's for the rear and Low Range 1" block for rear. :D:D:D
Me and a experienced buddy of mine are gonna do the work. As far as installing coilovers:facepalm: he's good, but don't think he's messed with bump stops.
    Few questions for anyone.

1st ,What's involved with that, easy or pia?
Second, will I be ok driving my Tundra around 90 miles back home without getting alignment. I plan on getting alignment when I have new tires and spacers installed. Thanks for your time.

Install isn't bad at all. Just follow a guide. I used the first few pages of this for the front coils.

    http://www.trdsparks.com/install/PTR13-34140inst.pdf

Only trick is make sure to loosen both the front and back of the LCAs cams from the front of the vehicle facing bolt. It will make sense if you try the rear ones and 100000lb of torque doesn't budge them.

I found loosening those to lower the LCA out of the way made things very easy. Get those adjustment cams marked before loosening else you can really throw alignment off. Retighten really well else the LCAs will knock.

90 miles isn't too bad, but you will add some wear to the outer edge of the tire. Doubt you notice.

Thanks bro, after some thinking , I might just have a local shop do it. Getting quote tomorrow. If doable I will have everything done in 1 shot. I am beating myself in the head over what tires. ST Maxx vs Nitto Ridge Grappler. Nitto is $60 more a tire, but is it worth the extra $240 vs ST.Maxx. I have heard great things about both tires. The Grappler being a little more quieter. I have heard the ST Maxx was a little suspect on wet roads. Gotta get my shit together, got to order by this Sat. :annoyed::help:

I'd go Ridge Grapplers in a heartbeat. I had the Trail Grapplers on an FJ and got nearly 90k miles out of them. Not sure about wear, but I've read great things about them and plan to get 285/70/18s when I can.

So my buddy that was gonna help me with install, the brains of the operation is going TDY ( Work Travel). So I called the shop who originally installed leveling kit to get a quote. So work that needs to be done. Install 6112's and 5100's. Install shim (driver side), CB bump stops. Install 1" tapered block in rear. Install wheel spacers, mount&balance tires, still haven't made decision if I'm going St Maxx or Nitro Ridge Grap, then alignment. Total cost out the door:rockband: $ 415.00. :kona::jellydance::taco::dancingbacon::broccoli::bananadance:.

Yeah I'm stoked. And by the way I opened the box to see if all parts were there. Them 6112's are knucking huge. Pictures don't show the true size of these behemoths.

Hey guys! I have 6112's being delivered tomorrow, I am stoked! I had them assembled at 1.9" has anyone had experience adding CB shims to both sides? Positive or negative feedback would be appreciated.

You are in for a treat! Mine feel even better now than when I first installed. No shims yet but that is what I would do if I wanted another.5 in.

Not yet. My FJ got some lean after a while, but I just ignored it. As I sit today, it looks perfect.

My 6112's are installed, unfortunately I'm waiting to get tires on. Mechanic forgot to put shim on driver side. I asked him for tape measure and measured center of wheel to top of fender wall. With the installation it took out most of the lean. Difference is less 1/4".. No need for shim.:D.

I have the 6112s set at top setting. 5160s for the rear. Coachbuilder shackles and extra shims if necessary. @Coachbuilder1 was an incredible resource and help when it came time to order the proper parts for running this setup at the top setting. Obviously I will post pics and feedback once everything is installed.
