He complained they had changed, leak , poor customer service....but I asked him how many came back in the last two years and he said a few....it’s a lift shop...every product man made has atleast a 3% failure rate....he may make more selling something else. Who knows. The feedback here is free and no one has a reason to be shady

Great, took another ride on the bad stretch and the bounce is definitely better. It’s not gone completely but I would say better by 70 percent. At least that’s my experience.
I also put the rear sway back on which I yanked because it was causing the bounce to be worse.
I didn’t go to the top because I didn’t want to lift the rear and the top would have made me nose high.
    Good luck with your decision.

So the only thing you did was 6112's in front at 1.9" and left it stock in rear?

Do either of you know how to make a sticky for the 6112 thread? There are multiple threads with awesome info on the setup and I was curious if there is a way to make one place similar to the lift and tires thread or something?

I had 5160s from factory on the rear on my 2013 Tacoma and one developed a leak at about 5k. Getting it replaced under warranty took 2 trips to dealer. I even pointed out the difference in my rear shocks to the numbnuts service writer. He orders the wrong one. I set up an appt. for 7:15. When I get there he tells me they don't start until 8. Then why did you have me come in at 7:15. He mumbles something that I could not understand. I go and sit in waiting area and about 9:15 he delivers the bad news. I said so the numbskulls in the shop lifted the truck and took the old shock off before discovering they had the wrong one? Glad to get a survey after that fiasco.

I'm starting to think the 5160s are overkill for my commuting. Might just go with the 5100s in the rear - and even those aren't necessary.

Since mine are top setting I am thinking 5100 and an Add a leaf to level it off if necessary and also help with bed bounce, etc.

Styx Man, I've been saying this for a while to most newbies that want to go with that set up. There's no need for that shock (5160) if your a mall crawler. To me there not worth the money if I'm riding out of town or up to AutoZone . Just my .02:D

I had put 5100's all the way around on my Taco during the short time I had it and they were great shocks for a DD and little off roading. WAY better than the blue/yellow Billies that were on there.

I'll probably go this route again on the Tundra. My off roading is limited to pretty much just getting up in the hills to do a little shooting (my friends weapons since all mine were "lost in a trajic boating accident") and some mild trails, nothing serious.

Overall, I really just want to get my front end leveled up and get a bit better shock than the blue/yellows. It seems like the 5100's will do all this and are a pretty good bang for the buck.

So guy at the local shop suggested this approach....thoughts.....since I just want a level and money after the holidays is tight....put 5110 on the front and level, after tax return add 6112 to the front and place 5110 to the back?....

Steve I don't know about taking your 5100 adjustable and moving it to the rear. Hopefully the experts will chime in. If you can that's a plan.

Put 5100's on front and sell when you're ready for the 6112's or just wait.

Uh. They aren't the same part. That's a really bad idea, and likely so bad of an idea it's not even possible, no matter how much duct tape they use.
