@armyoffoo was this table from your stock file or tuned?
I adjusted my pressures in each cell and lowered the output shaft rpm and it is shifting better. Still need to fine tune the 1-4 but not like it was.

Those values aren't from my tune, my values only go up to 399...I think that may have been scaled by Grant. When I compare my older tune file to my stock file they are the same.

    I just can’t find it!

it was when he put a supercharger on his Miata and it was all janky till he figured the throttle body percentage out

Thanks. Mine only go up to 403 and hw thought they were yours.

**grant just pointed out that the graph is in Nm not ft lbs. Haha gotta pay attention.

I've been reading it alot on the GM, hellcat and other sites that it's a huge variable...we just don't have the tunability that they have.

Not at all. Thank you for helping confirm.

The chapter in the linked automotive paper has a very detailed approach on how to handle some of these calculations but it gets in the weeds from a practical standpoint. If the juice is worth the squeeze in this case is another issue.

Rereading this thread, what I'm getting out of this is they are trying to figure out how to best capture the TB data in the ECU fields where necessary to resolve drivability issues. Reading through the HPT posts it reads like various ECU handle the information differently so there isn't one way to handle it for all vehicles.

Has anyone successfully reset the ECT learned values in techstream? I updated my tune for torque converter lockup in 4th and earlier in 5th and 6th. Completed the flash, switched to techstream, and when I tried the ECT values reset it errored out. Said something like "this option is not available on this vehicle" after trying it. FWIW, Mine's an '07.

I believe @armyoffoo used his foxwell scanner to reset his transmission.

    ah! found it

starts at about 14minutes, but the whole video is educational for slo-pokes like me.

you guys are far more involved than this video, but it helped me to understand what the heck y'all are going thru!

not quite as deep as I remember it, but it shows me what a PITA throttle body position can be and it's affects on boost & the bypass valve.

The Foxwell transmission reset didn't work and errored out, but the clear throttle learned values worked.

Did this ever get sorted out? If so, where can I get one? Any way to get a throttle body adapter for this as well?

Currently all the adapters have been one-offs from @snivilous. I'm considering selling the one he made me for a Harrop, although *should* fit other SC's.

First question. Are you running a Supercharger? If not you will see no gains on a NA engine. You also need HPTuner program to alter several parameters, tables relating to shifting torque, transmission output rpm and pedal positions.

Yes, I have magnuson tvs2650. I've seen the rcf adapters but wanted to go bigger as I plan on getting an xat built engine in the coming years. I'm trying to gather parts as I can in preparation (limited annual budget set by the boss haha)

I'm sticking with the GM 95mm as anything larger seems to hard to adjust. At least for my limited skills in tuning...very limited!

I may be interested. If it'll fit a nick Williams 112mm on a magnuson.

Prospeed made huge HP on the RCf 84mm TB and you could have it bored to 86mm.
GM vehicles have also made huge HP on the 90mm TB, over 1000hp.

The one issue is Toyota's ecu is very limited with HPtuners. Toyota is archaic compared to other manufacturers.

That's what I keep reading. My plan is to get the motec m130 plug and play from prospeed, likely next year. Might make some things easier but don't think it controls TB. Idk, kinda new to a lot of this.

Note* If it proves to be too much pain in the a$$ I'll probably go with the rcf TB.

    Well, I'll be...support came through!

There is a new VCM Suite 5.1 beta update available here with Throttle relearn & Reset all adaptives support added for this specific application

Well shit! Does this mean we've solved the issues? Recap, new harness adapter good to go? Quality TB needed. And Hp tuners update to assist in relearn value etc? My concern still is reliability and making sure I don't get stranded in the middle of nowhere lol

I haven't tried the reset with HPT yet, I just received the email like 6 minutes before I posted here. My d2a unit and harness are still working without issue, I have been running the 90mm since we got it working. I wouldn't worry about it leaving you stranded, just shifting issues that can most likely be tuned out...and when the nannies are disabled the shifting issues are almost null...

I'll summarize my experience like this, its like going from a stock AB60 to an AB60 with IPT valve body, it takes some getting used to and depending on conditions the 2-3 shift can kick like a mule or be like driving a Cadillac...and sometimes the RPMs hang if you're stuck behind someone that won't get their ass in gear, but that can be mitigated by manually shifting in S-mode.

I will upgrade to a larger TB, I already have the GM 2650 snout to make it happen with a custom intake, but will need a re-tune regardless.

Awesome and thanks for summarizing. This is still on my want list since I know we've got the ability to go from the current RCF to a 103 on the whipple.

I spoke with John at IPT about my shift kit and I asked him about the transmission shifting with the larger TB. He immediately stated we have to be able to adjust the torque load based on the new amount of air coming in. It's fine tuning as ViktorG stated a few pages ago.
I'm running the GM 95mm TB and have not had any issues since I ran it. Shifting is a bit higher. I'm still working on adjust the trans tpm output, pedal and throttle position relationship. Grant at TRP has been very helpful. The D2A works as designed its just our limited ecu adjustments!
I'm hoping to continue to dial it in but it takes a little bit of time.

Here is my shifting on a limited , not 100% wot, run from a few weeks ago. Shifting is better but would like the 1-2-3 to be a little lower at 15-20% throttle input. Zoom in on my tach to see the shifts. I have 2 areas I can open it up by a gravel pit and by an airstrip with limited housing...

I believe you mentioned this too.
You can also let off a little on throttle and it will upshift then you can continue on as normal. I'm also trying to adjust the 5-6 shift. When I encounter a slight incline it wants to down shift more so than with the Rcf.
The torque load is a bear to adjust but will get there!
