Infotainment apps

I have noticed certain apps automatically appear on the infotainment system and some don’t. I was really hoping that my OnX Hunt app would work but it does not. For some reason onX off road does though.

Any idea if there will be a way to add more apps? And is there a way to remove apps or move them around to customize your screen?

 

I don't know about adding apps, but you can remove or hide them. The owner's manual will tell you how (I don't recall the procedure off the top of my head, but it wasn't anything difficult).

 

GAIA GPS works on Carplay

 

I have a 2022 SR5 Crew cab 4x4 with the 14” premium audio. I’m trying to split the screen, navigation on the left and radio settings on the right…can’t seem to find the setting to do this, wonder if you can just do this with the JBL system?

 

Are you using Toyota’s native maps? For Apple CarPlay, go to your maps, then swiped all the way to the left side. It will split the screen for you.

 

Thanks, yes I was using the canned Toyota Nav. I’ll try my maps on apple CarPlay.

 

The site is kinda wonky, but you can go to www.carplaylife.com/category/apps/ to see CarPlay apps.

It's hard to find a 100% complete list of every app that has native CarPlay support since Apple doesn't produce a list. Carplaylife.com is about as close as I've ever found to an exhaustive list. It's missing some notable exceptions like OnX Off Road so don't think the list is totally "complete."
