Do it! If you like to drive with them on the road they are a little too bright. I am working on hooking these up to a Switch Pros so that I can dim them.

They are direct plug and play right? I don’t want to have to cut into anything

Yeah you're possibly right. I now actually have ordered a Toytec TRD stamped shift knob. Truck mods will keep coming I guess.

I’ve had a little leaking on mine at the tailgate and the front window with the few harder rains we’ve had since it was installed. Need to take a look.

Looks great! Like how you mounted the winch control box.
I need to get my fog lights upgraded also (morimoto aren’t doing it) and nice to know the switchpros can dim.

Once I had the shell installed, I knew I eventually wanted some sort of rack system over it. After looking around I liked the idea of a rack that covered the shell and cab. At the time (2016) there weren’t many options. I loved the look of the Prinsu on the tacoma’s, but they only offered the shell rack. So over the last 2 years I kept looking and started to contemplate fabing my own rack. Luckily I waited so long. Prinsu released the cab rack last summer! I held off on purchasing to see if there would be a good Black Friday deal. All that forced me to do was purchase the rest of the accessories I wanted for the rack. Lots of room for lights on the rack.

Earlier this month I finally got around to installing it. I did a lot of research ahead of time, but only really on the TW. Not a lot of information on the Tundra install. It didn’t help that neither rack came with instructions. CBI didn’t reply to my emails asking for instructions. Luckily @smslavin had a copy and sent it to me.

I started by assembling the cab rack and figuring out how I wanted to mount the @Baja Designs Onx6+. I ended up buying some Simpson brackets at HD and cut, drilled, and bent them to get the right angle. I slotted the holes so the light bar could adjust slightly.
    9782ED95-AF71-483D-BC40-CCF1C75C9293.jpg 18A42CD7-ED0B-420C-8721-3B5E85AFD78E.jpg 8CE572E4-7B49-4D65-A873-3E35F9CF5074.jpg 8C65EECD-AD9C-4FD7-B2B4-7F2438BEE152.jpg ACF9CA03-0970-4824-827A-6DBAF80265C5.jpg 80ED7BCE-F2B5-4D07-96C0-838241D984DD.jpg

Once I had the light bar mounted the way I liked it. It was time to move on to the that part that made me nervous, drilling the holes. You are suppose to drill right by the curtain air bags. I pulled the edge of the headliner down all the way around so that I could see everything and clean it out from metal shavings.

    AD66B0C9-A053-4CFE-B6C4-ACBF960ECDCC.jpg

I did a test fit and marked all the holes, disconnected the battery, and started to drill. The roof here is really thick and I went through some bits. The holes are actually 3”-4” away from any of the curtain air bags. You really don’t need to worry about hitting them.
    3C4BCFDF-3F1B-418B-AA95-5F1E927C5AE2.jpg

Once the holes are all drilled it’s time to put in the plusnuts. I read some people use bolts and nuts instead of what is supplied. If I did this install again I would either skip the plusnuts or find some longer ones. The plusnuts in the package really aren’t meant for the thickness of our roofs. At the front of the truck were the roof is thicker, the plusnuts barely sandwich enough to grab on. One other word of advice if you are going the plusnuts route, get a plusnuts install tool. I did a DIY tool and it only made the job more difficult. Put in plenty of RTV sealant around the plusnuts lips as you tighten them. Then more RTV sealant on the spacers as they sit on the plusnuts. The last part of the install is easy to just bolt it down.

    50F7E6EA-DED6-4907-AAC0-4F591DB3C866.jpg

The shell rack was super easy compared to the cab rack. The shell took like 2 hours total. I do have to come back in with spacers to make it the same height as the cab rack.

Next I need to get the rest of the Baja Designs S2s on that I have planned for around the shell rack. Wire up and install the Switch Pros. I will add more images of the final install once everything is up.

The racks look awesome. Thanks for all the details on the Cabrac install.
Have you seen any leaking with the torrential rain we’ve been getting here?

Nice Job Scott. Your truck looks so much different from the time you sold your SDHQ hidden winch bumper. The slimline bumper you have looks good too, and I was contemplating it. But I have this hidden winch bumper that I figured I'd put into use.

So far they have worked out well. I have only needed them as sliders once and they did the job. Most of the time they are just a heavy duty step. Kinda why I liked the All Pros, they have the full top plate to make it functional for the majority of its use.

I have been fearing that all week. I kinda look around and feel the headliner, but not sure if the water would soak through the liner or just run off down the pillars. I suppose I should take the liner down and do a real check. Right now I am just “if I can’t see it then it must be good” :fingerscrossed:

I was listening to an off-road podcast where they guys went on a snow rescue up Mormon Emigrant Trail over the big storm last weekend. The whole time I am thinking we are idiots and have a lot to learn about snow wheeling

Yes, this!! But we won't learn unless we try and get ourselves stuck. We didn't even to have to try hard. Just followed someone!!:D If I had to do it over again, I would.
