Masterforce (Chervon manufactured, Skil plant) hasn't done me wrong and keeps going, but then again, I only work on my own stuff around my own house and vehicles, fine for my needs thus far. My impact driver is their original from when they launched their Flex 20V and I can't help but wonder if a newer one would be a little stronger for the occasional rusty bolt or two, but I do have a nice 4ft breaker bar regardless.

Before I got my new free tool, Ridgid had to escalate to TTI, and the tool was in fact shipped direct from TTI.

You often can get Ridgid high torque 1/2" impact with battery & charger for roughly $190 or so from HD with a little hack.
You can do it right NOW, for $183 and it will come with 2 4Ah batteries.

    Just go to this link:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-...Ion-Batteries-and-Charger-R86212KSB/325264378

On top right hand corner, there is "Free gift with purchase". Press "+" button there.
If you are not interested in any of the tools there, then just pick one that is highest value ($189 one right now).

    Add both to the cart.

You will see that HD splits the prices to match $299 total. In my case, it was $183 for impact and $116 for blower.

Do store pickup which is easier, (but you can also do ship to home) show up to pick up, after picking it up, just return the blower with receipt and get $116 back.

I have one question, and it is a simple one. Which one will take the 22mm crankshaft pulley bolt off without making contact with the AC radiator?

I was able to remove the crank pulley with the Ridgid high-torque. I had removed the coolant radiator and the tool just fit between the crank pulley and the condenser. If I unscrewed the bolt too much I couldn't get the driver out, i.e. it would loosen the bolt and then I had to remove the driver to fully unscrew the bolt.

I bet the mid-torque (a bit smaller) would remove the bolt no problem (I think that was mentioned in this thread). It'd be interesting to see if the subcompact could get in there to loosen it w/out removing the radiator.

Earlier this year I bought my first impact. Good grief. I've been wrenching on things for almost 30 years in rusty Kansas and I don't know why I didn't do this sooner.

Since I have a lot of 20v yellow household tools, I picked up the DCF900. It's a 1/2" drive with up to 1400 ft-lbs of break away torque. It is a beast of a tool and heavy as hell. I've grown to like this big impact so well I am looking to get a compact 3/8" for general disassembly and assembly of parts!

I have the same one, Big Donnie. After using a Subcompact unit, I doubt Donnie is going to get much use. Little Ricky is so much easier to hold. I used him yesterday to drive new lag bolts into my walls.

The full size impacts are overkill for most jobs and don't fit in tight spaces. I wish I had started with the mid torque Rigid.

Yeah, if I do get the subcompact I'd like to walk around and do a Pepsi-challenge between the high-torque and it. Find all of the ugliest, nastiest bolts and nuts and try the sub-compact on them to see what it can't loosen. Then hit it with the high-torque to see if it hammers 'em off.

Your tool names are funny, cute and probably helpful. My wife calls the 1/4" driver the zoop-zoop and we immediately know what she means. "Should I use the zoop-zoop for the screws in the chicken coop?" "Yep, the zoop-zoop is the right tool for that."
