I honestly wouldn't worry about the miles. We've had a ton of members here with well over 300K miles. We've had 1 guy with 500K and we've seen three 4.7L's hit 1 million miles now. Jut keep up with the fluids and timing belts and you should be fine.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about miles. Me and a couple dozen others are in the 300k club. Also, it looks like your T-case was opened and resealed.

Both my mechanics told me the truck was just getting starting when I had 150k on her. Now sitting at 168k. Both mechanics have been fired since.

I have to say. At 198k, mine runs like a top. No leaks.
And with the fresh suspension, it drives better than a new one!

My corolla with over 800k still drives like a new car, albeit the engine rattles it’s way around these days.
These yotas are hard to kill. 150K ain’t nothin

Do you guys think they had to pull the PS res down because it's lifted so much, the lines didn't have enough extra length?

@ToyotaJim nothing wrong with this per say, I'm just curious. The only thing I notice that I'd change is your brake fluid is very dark. That's an easy job though. Overall, the truck looks to be in amazing shape. Good find! Have you put the vin in Toyota's website to see that maintenance has been done?

Brake fluid, will do! And thanks for the suggestion. I'll add that to the list.

Car fax showed no service records for owner 1, which was a commercial vehicle in California. Most of its life. I'm assuming they might have had their own in house shop, or who knows... Owner 2 took possession in CA, spent a few years there, and then moved to my state. Only put 30,000 on it in his 8 years. I assume owner 2 did all the lifting, body work, etc. Owner 2 had good records on car fax, changing oil more often than suggested. It would appear both owners did well.

Toyota online has no records. I'll get with the Toyota dealer and see what they can find in their system.

In CA unless you have a bed topper of some sort, any pickup truck is registered as a commercial vehicle. We get taxed higher for that, if we get a shell installed and have DMV inspect it we get dropped to regular transport and a lower registration cost.

Really sweet find, CA Tundras have very little rust as long as they didnt live in the mountains or beach.

I haven't had issues with full turns and rubbing of tires. I tested that in a parking lot b/f buying.

Lucky bastard! Hell of a truck physically, and mechanically from what I can see. Lift looks good and you’ve also got a Limited w NO leather cracking.. sheesh.. 150k miles is a newborn for a first-gen. Im happily sitting at 235k miles, and as already noted many first-gens driving around are easily 3, 4 & 500k mile club members. Congrats and welcome!!

that may be why they put spacers behind the rims--to kick the tires out so the wider tires don't rub on the inside suspension on sharp turns. This places a lot more stress on the bearings. Taller tires also can cause many problems. As a former avid CO four wheeler (who used to build Jeeps), the best choice if one wants to go four wheeling where more clearance is needed is to have a MODERATE suspension lift with a moderate body lift. Unless you have the wallet capacity and/or are building a serious off road vehicle, opposed to one that spends most of its time driving on the streets.

P/U trucks are automatically "commercial vehicles" in CA? Wow, now that's targeting of a segment of the population to steal more money from them.

Thanks! Unfortunately the pictures don't fully show the worn leather. Passenger area is a 9 out of 10, backseat is a perfect 10 out of 10 and looks unused. But among the few blemishes on the truck is the driver seat area. It's serviceable, but will need attention. I'd rate the seat and armrest area about a 5 out of 10. No rips, just heavy wear. I'm going to look into getting that seat re-done with matching leather. There's also a broken piece of plastic trim over the seat motor. All serviceable, but need attention. I did order some Husky fitted floor mats, but the carpet is a 10 out of 10 with no stains or wear.

Other than the rust around the center bearing flange, the roof is heavily faded and should be painted before next season, and some touch up work here and there, the driver seat area is the worst of it. Overall the truck IMO is a 9 out of 10 in each; mechanical, exterior, interior. It is a unicorn...

a good interior shop can replace just a panel of leather on the seat if the rest of it is good. On my 2003 the armrest cover just unzips & pulls off - probably the same for your leather one. Look to the backside of it.

Thanks. Used to see a lot of them in CO w/the lowriders. Some fourwheelers would think about doing it to prevent tire rub, but if they didn't have full floating axles they were usually talked out of it.

    Really nice truck.

Maybe someone already pointed this out, but both P/S and brake fluids look really dark. Could just be lighting, but I'd pull some with a turkey baster, put it in a clear glass container, and compare to some new fluids.

    Will do.

I'll do one better actually. I'll be taking it to my trusted mechanic for a bumper to bumper inspection and fixing or replacing any fluids necessary. I'll be trying to obtain all records in any national data bases on maintenance and probably replace the timing belt/chain and the center bearing flange as suggested here. I'll be doing all the routine stuff within my abilities, and letting the pros tackle the bigger jobs.
