Its a shame your insurance company is not as reliable as your pickup truck.

Keep up the good fight. You will get thru this. We are all pulling for you.

Thanks! It has nothing to do with my insurance company in this instance. My insurance is great but there is this new 3rd party arbitrator involved now mucking things up.

Id like to share mine if I could. I was having gnarly stomach pain, no other symtoms. Several emergency room visits, images, scans and tests later and "all is well we dont know why your in so much pain." Dont listen to nonsense like that, if your sick and you know it be persistent, I finally ended up calling my insurance and picking my own colorectal specialist. After some colonoscopy it was determined that my colon was dying (ischemic colitits) and no joke " youd be dead in a week" Long story short Dr. Ramanujam did an emergency colon resection and saved my life. I urge anyone having health issues to just be persistent and listen to you... you know what is best for you. I guess my point is that sometimes doctors aren't really looking out for ya like they seem to be and ya gotta trust instincts

Glad you had a great outcome! It's all about a great doc of course. My doc is great but getting shut down now temporarily with the PET scan issue.

Welp, my latest bloodwork indicated a 2.1 PSA. Went up 0.8 in one month. I meet with my urologist this coming Thursday. Insurance said they would cover the Acumen PET Scan when it hit 2. They better f'ing approve it this time! My doc is getting a bit antsy. We need to find out where the cancer is if it's back. Fun times:thumbsup:

I hope they get it figured out for you soon, Matt. There is very little that is worse than having to wait when figuring out health concerns. Prayers sent your way...

Had my Telehealth Zoom meeting with my Urologist today. As I figured.....another request for a PET Scan. Most likely will be back on Zytiga with Predisone steroids. Doc thinks if the cancer is back it's in the lymph nodes. Maaaaybeee. It's all about what the PET Scan results are. Popcorn time which sucks!

How long does the scan take, Matt? It seems like every time I have a medical procedure, they get you there at the crack of dawn and then it takes forever to get you checked in.

A 2 minute CT scan immediately followed by the PET scan which is 28 minutes. Just got the radioactive tracer injection now. Have to chill for 40 minutes then hit the scanner. I'm at Swedish Medical Center. Quite nice actually. On time. Should be done by 8:30 tops.
