Didn't get much sleep last night. Had my TeleHealth meeting today with my Doc. Head Cat scan>>>>>>>>>

:yes:No bone cancer in my head. Next>>> another PSA/Testosterone bloodwork at the end of January. If PSA reaches 1.0 I go back on Zytiga and Prednisone. Doc will try again to get an Axumin Pet Scan approved to pinpoint where the cancer is. My insurance has paid close to $19K for three different scans over the last 5 weeks......:eek2:

I just had my first colonoscopy @ 58, in part due to this thread. Thankfully only one small polyp.

But just to make you feel a little better, I get to go the 28th so they can stick a ballon up my pee hole because it has so much scar tissue I can barely pee. (passing kidney stones) They wanted to do as an emergency treatment yesterday, yeh, no.

Very glad that your test came out negative, Matt! Yes Sir, I gripe about insurance premiums, but when you need it, you need it. I got my 1-year PSA test, since external radiation treatments, and the results came back at .21. Got "promoted" to having a PSA test every 6 months going forward instead of every 3. You have to celebrate your victories when you can get 'em.

We have some good insurance options at work. I opted for the BCBS 100/80 plan. The priciest at $65 a week but totally hassle free. I did celebrate a bit last night.....

I forwarded this link to my urologist. He is aware of this treatment and is hoping he can use this on me. My PSA needs to hit 1.0 before I can possibly get the Axumin Pet scan approved. The Pet Scan is hi resolution and can detect small cancer cells. He says I'm a prime candidate for this treatment. I'm so into this possibility!

I don't want to sidetrack your thread but yes, its gonna suck.
I've never actually passed a stone, my back starts hurting and its the stones that are attached to the walls of my kidney moving down, my body seems to turn them to sand and I expel them as a sand. It has scarred my urethra to the point its almost entirely closed. I had top prove to them I could actually pee before they'd let me leave.
They'll expand it with a ballon and then leave a catheter in place for 2-3 weeks.
I'll be so very happy to pee like a normal person, I hope.

Not side tracking this thread at all Todd. Catheters suck. I had one for 9 days. The removal was quite unpleasant. The female PAC warned me first before she removed it. She said to "grab and hold , they don't come out too easy sometimes " great.....she was right but pretty hot...I'm not blind after all..ha!
I've lost any sense of embarrassment over the last 4 years dealing with this crap situation...

Heard that! After my Radical Prostectomy the nurses came in to give me a sponge bath and it was the first day on the job for one of them. after 30 seconds of them trying to keep my privates covered, which was about impossible, I took the towels off and said do what you need to do....I don't careo_O
Prayers for ya Matt....keep getting better!!

Got my bill for my TURP procedure, one night at the hospital and ER visit a couple days later. The grand total so far is 52K before medicare and my supplemental insurance kicked in. My portion is about 580 dollars.

The surgery was a success with respect to being able to pee. It’s been 2 months now and can pick up more than the 15 lb limit, but have not done or had to do any strenuous lifting. I lost an inch or so on my waist as I don’t carry around the urine anymore.

I complain on the cost of my insurance but it helped in this situation a lot.

Update>>>> Saw my urologist face to face finally. My PSA went up 0.2. Now 0.8. The plan is now to wait and see if it hits 2.0. Insurance won't authorize the Acumen PET scan until then. I thought it was until I hit 1.0
In the meantime I have to uptake my vitamin D to 4000 units per day for the time being. WTF? He went over all the different scenarios how this can play out depending when the PET scan happens. A wait and see. Not overly concerned yet. We are watching the rising PSA rate closely. A lot depends on this and will determine what happens.....no worries

So it was in for 14 days, I was terrified for them to remove it but it really was a non issue. Not a big deal to remove it. I have never pee'd so good in my whole life.
I had a lot of scar tissue, probably from too many BMX and motorcycle wreaks when I was young.
