Do you have the lab results on your on line medical report system? Sometimes the lab reports indicate ahead of time. No news is good news?

Well.......I went to Follow My Health site where my urologist posts up test results. No PET Scan results were posted yet. Logged on to my Swedish Medical Center account and clicked lab results which took me to My Health One site. I forgot about that account. Lab results were there. I read the clinical results several times. Lots of jargonese but after deciphering..."no evidence of osseous metastatic disease or FDG-avid malignancy!" Age related things were noted. No suspicious lung nodules, colon good, fatty liver tissues noted, slight hardening of the carotid arteries, two small hernias that were previously fixed. WTF! Sounds good to me....

My stress level is a lot lower now. Ha! My urologist said if the scan came back negative then just continued observation and blood works. He'll prolly tell me to cut back on beer......good luck with that! I did put on weight the last year but lost 8 lbs over the last 3 weeks from finally being able to get out and about. I need to lose another 15 or so but will be easy to accomplish that over the summer.

Done deal Mike! I can deal with these other issues the scan found, I was dreading the cancer coming back. It could still come back but looks promising for now. Whew!

You can't imagine how stressful the last 3+ years have been for me, unless you have been diagnosed with some sort of aggressive cancer like I have. Today was a good day....Black Eyed Peas comes to mind!
"It's Times like these" (FOO's) you really find out who your friends are. The doctors, technologists, and front office support staff have all been great. Dedicated and professional folks who really care. Quite pleased in that regard.

Quick update.....saw my urologist today. Went over my PET Scan results. The scan was negative. I sort of knew that already from deciphering the summary lingo. This scan, although very good, was not the Axumin PET Scan that is specifically to detect, even more precisely, recurring prostate cancer early. So.....bloodwork tomorrow and the Axumin PET Scan was requested again. The doc that did the latest PET Scan summary did recommend in the summary to request the Axumin Scan. Maybe the 3rd attempt will be approved this time.....sheesh.....

Hang in there Matt. With your background, you're of course familiar with "hurry up and wait." That shit applies not only to military, but to every establishment, including the medical and insurance establishments. Frustrating, to say the least. But always the rule, rather than the exception. Still praying for the best outcome.

Thanks Ron! I need the bloodwork asap. It will no doubt show my PSA rising. More ammo for my insurance to finally approve. I'm in antsy mode again....ha!

Thanks Mike! I thought this last scan was the Axumin.....my urologist says the cancer is back but apparently still need to narrow down where it is. Could be worse. "It's not a tumor!" Ha!.....K Cop

On a sad note...........I became friends with our calibration lab assistant manager. He came on board a few years ago. Ex Navy. Has kids from a previous marriage. Recently remarried, bought a house a few blocks away from me. Pool shark. Several trophies in his office. Damn good at bowling but pool was his gig. Recently bought a $1K stick. He had stomach cancer and told me about his ordeal with that. I told him about my cancer trials and tribulations. He was so happy when he told me his cancer was in remission. About a year ago. About 3 months ago he told me that IT's back. Went on some serious chemotherapy straight away. The last time I saw him at work was about a month ago. Maybe 6 weeks. Looked a bit haggard. Lost some weight. Not much. I could tell something wasn't right. Seemed to be preoccupied. 3 weeks ago the lab manager called an all hands meeting to say "He" is on temporary long term disability and not sure when he will be back. 2 days ago we had another all hands meeting. Not good news. My friend had been in the hospital for a couple weeks. Caught "pneumonia ". Got bad enough to be incubated. Took him off incubation and scanned him. Cancer had invaded his lungs. Put back in incubation Sunday. All hands meeting yesterday to update all of us. Today...alas...another all hands meeting. My friend was to be on a ventilator until his kids can get here asap. My friend "Brad" lost his battle today....fucking sucks.....
    FYI....get the shot....IMHO..

Really sucks. I just drove by Brad's house a while ago. I drive by it pretty much every day. He has a 2003 2wd Tundra with close to 300K miles on it. We, as in his coworkers, are meeting up this Saturday at his favorite pool hall. I'll be able to meet his pool league buds. Brad's wife thought that would be best... I already arranged for a ride there and back. Dry Dock Brewery is nearby. Dry Dock will be busy.....

Sorry to hear about your friend. I got to chatting with the inspector who came out to check my septic system Health. He definitely had the opinion that cancer as causing a lot of deaths since Covid came around. The immune system is getting F~<£ed over.

Update....my friend Brad's kids got here here yesterday morning. Our VP of Corporate Metrology Operations came in this morning and informed the staff. Ventilator that was keeping Brad "alive" was switched off yesterday afternoon......I already knew. A loop I didn't want to be in. I dislike being in certain loops.

For what it's worth, Leanne the VP, told me that she has been in contact with Brad's wife for a while. Not just Leanne. Lee, the CEO is totally on top of this situation. I know Lee personally. Great man. He has come out here a few times. Used to be a calibration tech years ago. Family finances are covered not only short term but also long term. We all get 2X our salary for life insurance for free. I myself pay extra to get 3X. Not sure what life insurance my friend had, if any. He's a Navy Veteran so there is that too. Sad day at work.....I want to mention again to get the vaccine. I won't elaborate but.......

Somewhat good news. My insurance finally approved my Axumin Pet Scan! Next Thursday at 1:30pm at Swedish Medical Center. Hopefully the scan will pinpoint where the cancer is. If localized...radiation again. If not localized....hormone treatments again and Zytiga to keep it from spreading. Fun times....

A follow up... I'm glad I'm going back to Swedish for the best scan for my situation. So professional and very caring. Top notch hospital doesn't hurt. Never asked for any sympathy and don't want any, only to make folks aware. Been on here for quite some time now. I thrive on sarcasm but lately there seems to be a few here on the forum lately that go beyond sarcasm into belittlement. Good thing that there is the ignore selection.
