Yes, you really really need to get some retros. That is your only solution. Must do. Blast through snow!! Yay!

Baja Designs period. If you don't want to use your fog lights on the street, throw in a set of Squadron Pros (Driving/Combo in amber). Just under 5k effective lumens per light. Something that will be more "acceptable" on the streets is going to be the Squadron Sports. These sit at 1800 lumens and I would still stick with the Driving beam pattern. We do the sports in all the fog lights for vehicles that come through here. The pros are wayyyyy too much for a on the road application. The XL80's are no joke at 10k lumens per light. Let me know when you are ready and we can get you set up

For street use, Rigid Dually in SAE pattern, add the yellow lense cover when/ if needed.

Or if you are serious about amber light, do our hood scoop light mount with a 40" S8 in there

That's great info to have. When i'd be using them on the road it would be in remote areas or through the mountains on heavy snow storms. Are the Squadron Pros street legal?

Nothing is street legal in the world of aftermarket light except an SAE/DOT approved light. But the light is so diffused out at that point, why are you paying the money for an Offroad light when you could of just thrown in better bulbs into your stock housings? We haven't had a single issue here yet that we know of with the fog lights

That is all the lights on. The floor portion of the fog lights you can see on the ground and spread to the dirt. You don't see the spot portion of the light because it is being overran by the two 30" bars

There's lots more research and information out there about fog lights now and it's pretty well accepted that the color white or yellow doesn't matter. The top of the beam needs a sharp cut off to keep refraction/reflection from directing up into the drivers eyes. I would have thought that the reflection from ice particles in snow would have been similar to that from moisture particles in fog. I'm probably gonna research that and see what I find cause I'm curious now. The morimoto fog lights I added are probably the least beneficial of all the mods I've done and the only one I consider a waste of money. They are okay but they just don't matter.

i thought i was putting a better bulb in, though that didn't pan out. i've had better fogs for the snowy conditions but i have no idea what they were.

I would like off road lights that give me a lot of visibility combined with (hopefully) effectively making snowy condition driving better. Does this exist?

I'd like to read those articles from a fog aspect. I can tell you for sure from a dust aspect (following someone, etc) that the amber light will pierce it as a white light will hit and reflect. Thus why the amber is more efficient in the dusty conditions and why you will see them on every desert racing vehicle. From my personal experience, I have also found that the amber does pierce through the foggy conditions better than the white light in the aspect of people seeing you.

I can't see what more light can really do in a blizzard except just reflect more. If you can't see in the daytime, you simply can't see. No?
