I know. I just can't get too excited about spending money right now. Lots of responsibility kinda stuff needs to come before replacing lighting.

Are you looking for something to replace your OEM fogs that you can use on the street with other traffic, or something that will light up the night sky like a second sun?

Amber or other color differences don't work better than whiter light, that whole thing is a myth..

    http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/lights/light_color/light_color.html

I wasn't trying to insinuate that you would or were buying for bragging rights! Just saying that you absolutely get bragging rights when your fog lights were $500 for the pair..

The normal Rigid D series come in amber in a wide pattern, those are like $350

Fogs aren't made to blast through snow and light up way in front of you. Ditch lights are illegal on streets. Sounds like you just need better headlights. Get some retrofits and give me your crappy ass Spyders.

    I know you weren't. I'm just not really a name/brand dropper. I'm more of a shit talker.

As for the yellow, i've read that in snow it makes a difference. Am i wrong? I've never driven with amber lighting and would love some feedback if you have. Point being, i've never had a fog light that ever did anything positive for my winter driving, and i rarely see fog. If the current MOTOS aren't sufficient then i'm gonna go with a driving light that lights up the earth and only use them off road at night. There's no reason to waste the spot that the fogs are in

I sent a link to a bunch of research on that exact topic. I always thought the same because that seems to be the common opinion of people who know shit about cars. I was surprised to learn that the science behind that idea is from almost 100 years ago and is pretty questionable. More recent studies have shown that there really isn't a measurable difference at all.

    i don't care about fog
i want snow to get out of my way
If i can't have exactly what i want then i'm just going to replace my fogs with lights that i can see @Backslider dining room table from my house

It's not too much to ask for

Snow is like fog. Doesn't help with stronger lights. Maybe you should be looking for a heat lamp or maybe a giant blower in front of your truck. Do you even get that much snow there?

Yeah. I still think amber fogs look awesome - so there is that.. But I don't think there is any real fog-cutting-snow-peeking advantage.

These are what my motos look like. The pattern is to far left on the driver side and passenger side is barely noticeable. Also has "eye" bags just like @Almaboy

I have headlights covered with cardboard so I can see fog light, so that bright light on the neighbors driveway is the driver side fog.

I've been working on dampening shields like in Star Trek that would squash and throw off bugs before they hit your windshield or hood - I could modify the design to move snow and fog too.

Stupid question but have you guys adjusted the aim of them? I was pretty impressed with the wide, flat beam of the morimotos. I often wish I still had mine. =\

Have you seen "Passengers" the movie? They had a giant force field in front of the spaceship. I think that's what Mark is looking for.

Not yet, but don't they adjust up and down only? And what's up with the half moons on the ground?

Uh....yeah. 530 inches my first winter here.

Actually, not true. I don't know the science behind it but my 2012 Tundra had lights that (unknown to me) were badass in the snow. When i turned them on they really lit up the road and i could see 50 yards in front of me even on the heavier storms. Maybe my eyes are getting worse, but i want to be able to see through the snow for a good ways rather than just 10 feet in front of me.

I thought the half moons were from the light leaking past the cardboard from your headlights.

Just sell the kids, then you can get whatever lights you want. Or you could be the old fashioned parent and make them get jobs to pay for their own shit.

I adjusted up and still had those half moons on the ground and caused light to be to far up. I have to keep playing with them to see if I can move the light somehow. But they are mounted correctly in the housing and in the bumper.

What??? JObs? that's child abuse they tell me.

Hell, they have to buy their own food, cell service, and underwear. I try hard to teach them to be responsible with money too. Guess i''m not really a great role model

Yep, 2nd gen has better lights. Two projectors in each headlight. I'm just going to upgrade the bulbs in mine at some point.
