I'm an idiot.. piece of the foil seal fell down the fill tube to the engine

God Lord you hit it dead on. Why does everyone think cause they hear something from Cooter's uncles sisters brother they need to have a come apart. Don't worry in the slightest. It will be torn to shreds by the engine and the filter will do exactly what a filter does and pick it up. Everyone go outside and smash a piece of aluminum foil with a hammer and then tell everyone to replace their hammer. Calm down Sherlock's, I realize the engine is not a hammer but every part is hardened and will laugh at a chunk of foil. The carbon chunks that get flung through an engine in its lifetime are ACTUALLY hard and the engine turns them to powder instantly. Do whatever you want, drain the oil, run it a bit and drain the oil again but don't bat an eye that ANY damage will come from this.

    Some like...stuff and things.
I'd personally drain the oil and if it doesn't come out, I'd be pulling the valve cover in hopes it stayed within the top of the head. I'm also OCD and would convince myself that the truck will implode if I don't...

Then I'd go to AutoZone/Advanced/NAPA/Whatever and buy a funnel that has a screen in the bottom of it. You wouldn't think you'd need it until you do...

Tried finding it with no luck. Decided to send it started the truck. Oil pressure is in the normal spot. Increases when accelerating. Didn’t sleep much last night haha, But I’m going to drive it for a couple hundred miles and change the oil again. Hopefully the screen and the oil filter do their jobs. Thank you all for the help.

My money is on it will be okay, still thinking a shopvac would have been able to suck it out though. Good luck!

Imagine how many dealer grease monkeys do this on the daily! I don't think it's an issue. Either the little foil piece will get munched up quickly by moving parts inside the engine or it will migrate down to your oil pan and then lay there till you trade in the vehicle.

Start it up and go driving.

Not sure but seems like most dealers use bulk oil out of a gun?

Damn I want to move to Talkeetna! Used to live in Homer until I couldn't afford it anymore...now to convince my parents to move there so I can vacation back to the holy land...

Back on track. I'd drain the oil again and hope it's there. Sadly it has to use all the drain back holes to get to the pan and being that size it very well might not. My concern would be it getting into one of the cam followers.

That’s gonna be the key. Stay on the gas so when that little bugger slips into he moving bits it’s rapidly pulverized!

This guy has some great vid's, pretty spot on with his advice IMO. I love the way he calculates 35 Newton Meters while tightening the filter canister,...snug, plus a little more. ;)
