I am somewhat in the similar consideration, prior we Had Honda Pilot and Tundra, Pilot died in Albuquerque, NM, so wife got a '24 Venza Hybrid.
While the Tundra is now THE family road trip vehicle, being 2WD, it sometimes makes me think a few more times when taking winter trips, especially where it might snow/sleet/whatever else the hell there is...

So, I have been looking (hint: LOOKING) for a AWD Hybrid SUV, that can be better MPG for daily commute (~55 miles round trip daily) and also spacious enough for long road trips, especially where weather is a concern.
Wife did mention wanting a Lexus, possibly TX500h, but others have said it, it is basically Grand Highlander MAX Hybrid, just not as nice and quiet, since Lexus does have better sound proving...

Cheap as possible: 6 speed manual 2015 or 2016 Scion TC. Basically a lighter, 2dr, much more fun to drive Camry with a manual.
Otherwise newest Camry without a CVT I could afford.

Honda Accord 6-6 (3.5 V6 with 6-speed manual). I had a 2008 Coupe in Belize Blue. Loved that car!
    or...
VW GTI. Gen 5 and up are truly nice driving cars that are very nice for daily use. I had a 1.8T 4th gen and love that one too.

I had an IS250 AWD. It really was a nice car. However, the sticky dash was NASTY and the direct injection issues killed that car for me. Didn't kill the car but made me not want another.

That is exactly why I went with the IS350. The IS250 had some issues and not enough power for my liking. 300+ hp was required.

Did yours have the sticky dash issue?
I bought mine on the cheap after the warranty had expired. I knew nothing at the time but bought because it was a great opportunity (paid $2k in 2022). I kind of assumed that I could wash the sticky off...... NOT.

I'm not sure what your issue was with the "sticky" dash. Prior owner may have had a dash mat maybe?

You would know if you had it.
It was a problem with the skin on the dash and door panels. It would degrade, crack and be sticky as it decomposed. It felt like someone sprayed the whole dash with Coke. But you could not wash it off.
The PO may have had the recall done.
Here is information that does not cover the IS but does show the issue and the magnitude of it:

Been thinking of selling my DD 2012 Prius with 200k (bought at 50k) for a long time but can’t pass up the 45mpg it still gets on the original hybrid battery. I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it lol. 1 oil change a year (10k miles). Did a big service: all 4 corner brakes, water pump and coolant… it can’t get any easier to own a car like that. But if i only had the tundra and needed to move to a commuter car.. def a Toyota hybrid from 2010+

If you caught it within the warranty period they took good care of you. Unfortunately, you needed to catch it within 10 years.

Id drive my wife's 07 V6 Camry...that 3.5 moved but like mentioned above, the sticky dash was bad. Awesome little car, did a couple of water pumps on it and a steering rack...other than that, it was great until she T-boned a red light runner and it was totaled.

Why? My aunt drove her for quite some time and also her son fled from cops on few occasions(successfully), engine didn't blow up. Ticket came in the mail though..

It was the one from commercial with celtic music, white one.

Depending on budget, somewhere between an early ls400 to ls430. Comfortable. Classy. Decent power. Decent mileage. Very reliable. Plus I'm very tall so a small car doesn't fit me well.

I had to do the same. I purchased a 2011 CRV that wasn't running for $400 invested 1500 into it and it now my commuter car. She is spacious and great on fuel. Very sluggish but I can't complain.
