Fractured ribs hun? Ochh. I fractured 3 ribs and let me tell you, it sucked. Every sneeze, cough, laugh or hard jolt hurt for over a month. I don't envy you.

yea its somewhat quieter but still squeaks. I’m half tempted to put the stock pack back in with a lift shackle at this point.

    Hey OP,
Have you checked that the spring eye's both forward(frame mount) and rearward(shackle mount) haven't shifted and are rubbing metal to metal causing a squeak?

A swift hit with a mallet could correct this.

    Just a thought.

I did the lift shackle route for a while and it worked fine for providing the look I wanted, the problem with that though and why i switched is it flattened out my leafs so much so that anytime i hauled a load I would bottom out and my ABS sensor light would go off.

I still haven't had a chance to do mine yet. Oddly enough though I washed my truck just before i left for vacation-we took my wife's van, came back and have driven the truck the last few days with no squeaking now. I'm sure it'll come back, but I don't know if it was the wash or what that made it stop. I did notice it does not squeak in colder weather, but it's been pretty hot here lately.

If you ever get your leafs on full droop you can take a small blade hacksaw and cut those plastic caps out from between each leaf. No more noise. And yes there is a YT vid of a giy doing just that. I did what he did and it didnt cost me a set of deavers

I happened across the below product in a yewtewb video. I like the concept and may try a similar approach. It's essentially a scaled up version of the bicycle inner tube.

I saw that too. For whatever reason I did the bike tubes and it was quiet for a few days and the. back to squeaky again. Maybe more dirt is the answer ! Throw some limestone dust on them.

Interesting. Mine seem to be mostly quiet. I haven't done the driver's side yet and so when I get noise, I think it's mostly that side.

I just did that. Had the Dobinsons leaf pack and just went back to my oem leafs with the toytec shackles. Those Dobinsons leafs creaked for over a year. I could touch them with my finger and they would creak. Getting in and out they creaked, and moving and stopping they creaked. I would power wash and try new greases every 1-3 weeks depending on what lasted the longest. After going back to the oem leafs and shackles I am happy about my decision of going back but not thrilled about wasting 700 bucks on the Dobinsons leafs. My next after market leafs will be deaver no question. Just thought I’d share me experience. Good luck.

Just tried the inner tube fix, soaked each piece of tube with a silicone spray and put them in. So far no squeaks. Hopefully it lasts...

Well that was short lived. Squeaking is back. Last just a few days using the inner tube method….bummer.

Super frustrating, I know I already posted above. Drove home from Phoenix, thru NV, to Oregon. Hit a ton of rain that knocked desert silt off on the way home and got the dreaded squeak the next day. Drove 200 miles and they quieted down again...maybe I'm just lucky?

While assembling my RXT leaf pack for option #3, I shot lithium grease between all the leafs/ brass anti squeak plates.

    Been squeak free ever since.

    YMMV

I think the brass shims are they key. Had I caught wind of all these squeak issues, I would have disassembled my dobinsons and installed shims in the centers and pads on the end of all leaves.

You could also try McMaster or a site like online metals. I think the OE springs have stainless shims. That's another option.

I’m going to try re-torquing things, spraying the bushings and if that doesn’t work I’ll be hitting up Icon for some brass.

I used to spray mine with motorcycle chain oil. Wouldn’t squeak until I got dirt on them offroad. Hose them down with water and the squeak would go away.

Okay, so my latest on this. I went under the truck and took a look at everything. Shackles did not look over torqued at all but I still re-torqued. I then went to the frame mount for the leaf spring towards the front of the truck and they seemed much tighter than the rear. I looked up the torque specs and found 77ft lbs for both the front and rear? So I torqued the front to that, loaded it up with silicon spray all round the outside of the bushing and no more squeak. Like it’s eerily quiet. I think I’ve gotten so used to that sound it almost seems foreign. Regardless though I vaguely remember icon directions saying to torque the front much more than 77. So far so good though.
