So working on installing the Icon RXT leaf packs and dobinson shackles. Everything is going smoothly until I put in the icon springs. I can’t get the center pin of the leaf springs to line up with the hole in the axle. I believe they are oriented correctly with the big wrap to the front?? Wondering if I am missing something. Everything I read said the military wrap or the big loop goes to the front.

I see there are 3 holes in the axle, does it go into the front one and not the center?

Or does the axle need to come forward some? Now that I look at it from further back it looks like it does.

Axle needs to come forward. Mine shifted and I spent way too long trying to figure this out. I used a ratchet strap to pull it forward and get the leaf pack pin into the center hole on the axle plate.

Awesome. Thanks. I was going to lose my mind if I pressed out the wrong side for new bushings.

It should go in the center hole.

If I recall, it may move a little easier if you loosen the ubolts on the other side.

This should definitely help give it a little more maneuverability to assist with aligning the pin.

Thanks all. I did loosen the U bolts a bit on the other side and ratcheted it in place. Time to rinse and repeat on the other side!

Finished and about to take it for a test drive. Much better stance with the icons option 1, dobinson shackles/bushings and some sumo springs.

Just started this same surgery yesterday. I’m running option 3 on the icons and can’t seem to get the shackle lined up with the rear spring hole. They’re a lot beefier way more droop than stick springs. Did you attach the front spring bolt first and then the rear shackle or visa versa? @Nbab23 any tips much appreciated!

Bolt in the front first, and you'll need a LOT of droop to get the rear shackle eyes lined up. Make sure to watch your brake and ABS line (disconnect them) and do the extension brackets afterwards.

@TRDFerguson That did the trick! Got ‘er in there. Icon instructions don’t mention anything about greasing their bushings, I’m assuming their pre -greased??

Agreed. I think a big thing is jacking up the frame high enough so you are able to lower the axle as far as needed to get everything lined up and watching/disconnecting the ABS and brake line brackets in the process. My caliper was about a 1/2 from the ground when I was installing it. I probably should have went higher with the frame prior to starting as I was cutting it close.

As far as pre-greased, I don't think they are. At least not that I saw. I replaced my shackles with Dobinsons which came with their own bushings so I pressed out the rear bushing on the Icon leaf and kept the front as is. I greased the inside of both pretty heavily with a silicone based grease

So it's printed "front" right on the top and it looks in ur Pic that it's facing the rear?? Also they state in both packs that these will not work with TRD sway bar so they do still clear?

Leaf Springs-always put the front solid hangar bolt in loose. Line up spring center pins and loosely put u-bolts over but
don't tighten. Rear hangar last loosely, insert all the bolts loosely before you even begin to think of tightening anything.
It should be a loose hanging mass before you attempt to tighten any of the nuts/bolts. If you have all the threads started
and it's in place you could drop the shock in now as it might be a bit easier before the spring is tight but don't let it
push the u-bolt plate away. I've done more than a few leaf spring kits.

Curious as to what made you decide on SumoSprings? I put a set on the front of my Land Cruiser to help reduce dive impacts.
    I love them.

No it’s not. That’s just a number on there. And no issues clearing the rear sway bar thankfully. I didn’t even know that icon had that warning.

Since I raised everything in the rear I figured I’d use them like a longer bump stop and they can double when I have the truck loaded up. I don’t tow or haul that much but I wanted the extra support of the springs when I do.

That's exactly what they are designed for. They are a very cool invention. They make excellent 'soft' bumpstops.
