Being told something twice that is at least incomplete if not untrue, hearing nothing back, and then reaching out again to find out nothing has happened that Icon said would happen would frustrate me, too. I agree that getting upset doesn’t help, but sitting there being ignored very patiently and quietly doesn’t help, either.

Also, if you run a business, and you let an angry customer (who you’ve apparently ignored twice) to influence how you hold up your end of the deal, remind me to avoid your business. After hearing the OP’s story and several people chiming in on how it seems par for the course with Icon, I’ll remember to avoid theirs.

I have tons of patience for things that are outside a companies control. I have a good amount of patience for things that are inside the companies control. I have very little patients for lack of self control of employees of companies especially as they become higher management. I have zero patients for companies when they show no concern or care for their customers in whatever the situation is.

to put that in perspective. If a company screws up more times then I can count on my hands and feet but they show a general concern and try to resolve things I will almost always give them infinite chances to make things right. It’s when the company tells me I have no choice and I’m screwed and just suck it up that’s when the sh1t hits the fan and posts like this are made.

This shows a lack of caring about your customer which is who pays their bills and I don’t put up with it at all.

Well if you think Icon handled it poorly, be sure to avoid SCS too. Huge thread over on IH8MUD about SCS customer service royally screwing a guy over.

Free? Oh you mean the wheel I already paid for. Yeah gotcha. Free wheel is what I was demanding. Exactly what I was doing.

Sounds like ICON customer service is similar to dealing with Cox Communications when my bundle expires and my bill mysteriously doubles all of a sudden.

If you read the thread, you’ll see how the guy was royally screwed over by Icon as well as SCS.

All of a sudden, I’m not really interested in those F5s if they ever actually come out…

Have you thought though that maybe the people complaining is the reason you had good customer service. Because internally they had a meeting and said we need to do better. Then the next time you call you get great service.

I have actually never thought that……I believe that most companies have good and bad days. Maybe they looked back on how it went down and talked about how they could have handled a situation better. But it wasn’t because someone called and went scorched earth on an employee. Maybe it was because they took some time to decompress, think about a situation and address it with each other. You don’t have to get angry and hostile to get a response

You asked what it had to do with Icon, so I told you.

And if you’d read the article, you’d see that Vin from SCS told the guy the wheels he was interested in fit his LC100 nicely. Dude mounts them, and it turns out they don’t fit. He emails back and asks why he was told they would fit nicely. Vin says he should have test fit them first, in spite of their prior exchange.

Maybe I too am a young unreasonable person , but needing to grind 2mm off for the wheels to fit on the front hubs, which makes it so the center caps no longer fit ≠ “work on your LC 100 nicely.” Entire email trail is there. It’s pretty damning.

Same guy (awful luck, right?) washes his hands of SCS and orders 5 Icon wheels. One is incorrectly machined so that it doesn’t fit the front hub on his LC. They won’t swap it out even though it’s literally a factory defect because he had it mounted.

I don’t know about you, but when I order a set of wheels because the company’s website or an owner/representative literally told me they fit, I’m going to take them at their word. I’m not going to test fit each wheel to every hub on my truck thinking that they don’t know what they’re talking about. And I 100% think both companies should have taken care of the guy.
Fair point. Mine would all probably look like that after the first day off pavement.

Actually, it’s supposedly sitting in a container ship somewhere off the coast of California.

Well the saga continues. They received my wheel on the 15th and just never sent my new wheel out, can’t say why, it just never happened. Oh and they have plenty in stock(their words). This has got to be the worst experience I have had with a company in a very long time.
