Dont install without the overload for 2 reasons.

    1. The pack will clap out within months of use.

    2. Icon will not warranty it because the install instructions state to install with the overload

If you are talking the expansion pack, that is NOT want the install states whatsoever.

Yea, I just looked them up. I hope I still have the instructions at home because that is not what was on my I instructions. I went over them with my suspension guy and they explicitly said that the overload was to be removed. There is a revision date on the instructions posted here of 6/20/2020. I hope I can find mine to see what the date was.

I'll look and see if I can find the instructions I had during my warranty issue.

Ask me how I know about post #31...

Don’t have my install instructions, but I can state 100% it said explicitly to install with the overload spring.

No, I think your right. I’m confusing myself as I’m on vacation this week

I remember now that when I went to pick up my truck he asked if I wanted the leaf spring he took out. It was ONLY the overload spring. That where the disconnect was. He said he never took out the 2ndairy spring. So he put the overload back in so the end result is I have all the stock springs along with the leaf pack expansion kit.

Simply adding the expansion pack to the full leaf pack seems like an interesting way to refresh the springs. How does it ride unloaded?

FWIW, some measurements from running them WO the overload leaf. As well, the discussion regarding "improper install" was addressed via verbal communication - at which point I provided screenshots of my conversation with IVD stating that "there would be no issues installing without the overload". Glad I kept that convo as it was my only grace to get the warranty processed.

Looks like a nasty hit, ouch!

I don’t know that I can tell the difference from stock. I did this at the same time as converting over from Bilstien 5100’s to the adjustable Kings but honestly I can’t tell the difference.

Easiest way is to get the Toytec/Deaver single AAL. Won’t sag, will give lift, and maintains very similar ride characteristics.

I'm also considering Icon expansion pack for the 1.5" on a 11 DC...

Is this the Toytec AAL you are referring to? How is it different from the Icon expansion pack?

I’m glad I just got a full Dobinsons heavy leaf pack. This thread is making my head spin. Sorry for your brain injury. I’m a mountain biker and have witnessed sever concussions to a few in people I’m close with. It’s scary and the after effects are legit.

Icon expansion is badass thus far.

Ride quality is unchanged and with my insanely heavy boat / tongue weight it doesn’t sag nearly as much.

If you tow do it. If you don’t then shackles

My friend with a Tacoma was telling me how the icon expansion is so well renowned in that crowd. Interesting for our big girl Tundras not so much for everyone. He made me second guess my full leaf replacement... and then there’s always a thread like this on this site. If mine is saggin then damn you shoulda bought a 350 or 3500!E227474A-C088-491B-A094-98DB80769CA7.jpg 8D7FF952-2779-4FB2-B046-541C2AE7E1E1.jpg

I see you used Kreft for the suspension. How do you like it and what was done? My 300's are currently with Corey at Protune getting the WP 6500 carts installed.

I've added a new bike to the stable....

Honestly it looks like pretty much the same thing. Both use the factory overload.

It’s not the same as an add a leaf though, those keep the factory spring pack and add a leaf into the mix.
