Depending on how much weight your SxS, or other toys, are adding to the trailer you should probably be good with a 5.7 equipped Tundra. I'd recommend going for a tandem axle trailer to make it easier to keep weight balanced on the trailer and keep your tongue weight at a level that the Tundra's low payload can tolerate. It's easier to do on a tandem without accidentally ass loading the trailer and making it unstable while towing.

Be prepared; your fuel economy is going to suck while towing. It won't matter if the trailer is empty or loaded, you're going to take the hit because of the aerodynamic drag of a trailer. My flat utility trailer tanked my mileage with or without the RZR on it because of the rear ramp acting like an air brake.

Beyond that, as long as you keep the trailer small, a Tundra will be great for a toy towing platform. Tag me when you get your trailer!

Ah, then you know what you're getting into, and for a gasser half ton, I don't think you can beat the Tundra for towing. They are geared right and have ample power. Looking forward to your setup.

This guys update vids were a big part of me not worrying about downsizing to the Taco. There's a lot of people that point out the flaws or that some have had engine issues, etc. and I'm not saying those things don't happen or exist. I just think that this guys experience is more in line with the norm and those issues are the exceptions.

The new taco looks interesting, especially with 326HP and 465ft/lbs of torque for the hybrid. The trailhunter is awesome but will be mega money. Would probably take the manual with the normal 4cyl though.

I'll keep my 3rd Gen. I'm not a big fan of the headlights/vents. Didn't like it much on the new tundra either. Overall it looks good, but it doesn't move me the way the 3rd Gen does.

As for the power trains; hard pass. I hate that regulations are forcing everything into minimal displacement forced air engines to try and keep a usable power level while also getting "better" MPGs. I want a naturally aspirated engine that is capable of performing for the vehicle, and then add your turbo/SC for stuff like the Pro or Trailhunter. Especially because the non hybrid has minimal TQ gains over the outgoing NA 6, and it has no gains in HP. It actually has less HP if you take the manual, because for some reason the manual is tuned down on the 4th Gen.

Now, I love that they did standard LED lighting, didn't make the independent rear mandatory, added a fulltime 4wd option in the limited, and that the terrain modes will work in both 4hi and lo. All good moves. Payload is shockingly good as well.

Agree on everything, I'll keep my NA Tundra. I do like the little LED's on the side of the bed rails, that's pretty cool. Also it's still pretty cool you can get a manual even though it's behind a turbo motor. Also real or better ergonomics on the new one and rear disc brakes.

Same frame as the Tundra so it's most likely overbuilt for the Taco. Trims levels get specific UCA's and suspension. Overall a WAY better upgrade than the Tundra got. In fact it's almost pathetic how much better this upgrade is for the Taco compared to the "upgraded" Tundra.

I agree with most of that too. LOL. As for the rear discs, I don't really care. It makes them easier to work on, but drums don't need much work for a long long time.

I wasn't ever gonna put 37's on the Tundra. Certainly not on the Taco! Though I have a little pile of parts I've been trying to get on the truck. Rain has caused many delays for the last month or so.

Not really. I'm keeping it simple this time around. I have the dash and radio screen protector, trailer brake controller, bed stiffeners, sliders, and the bed rack to put on. I've been waiting for a dry spell to get paint on the sliders and the bed rack needs some touch up work. The rain for the last month has prevented it, and now with losing my dog I don't have much motivation at the moment.

Indeed, the iKamper is in storage for the eventual install. If I get good weather on some days off I can touch up and reassemble the rack with the new crossbars for the Taco. Then a trip to visit a buddy and get the tent on.

As for Stella... I'm a mess right now, but I'll get there eventually. Best friend I could ever have asked for.

That's high praise coming form the Blueberry King himself! Easy to say though, because the 3rd Gen Taco looks good no matter what.

Similar age to mine. She turned 13 on 2/21/23 and was doing good. This was really sudden, and that's part of what makes it so difficult. There was no real warning or lead up. She was fine Sunday, had some struggles Monday, and I had to say goodbye Tuesday afternoon.

Give your pup some extra love so she knows how special she is!

Thank you, Sir. With the limited choices for the TRD Pro it was an easy decision, and the 500X only comes to the states in one color way. I'm glad it was the green, but even if it were the red or black I would have bought it. I've been lusting after one since the 2019 refresh, and they just made it better with the 2022 refresh. Trading the SxS for the bike was a win because I got the bike plus a couple grand in my pocket while eliminating a payment. Pleased with both vehicles.
