You think I'm kidding about more pictures, but I am serious! I think your truck is one of the most beautiful trucks Toyota has ever made! I want one myself :anonymous:

Thank you, Sir. It's a downsize but an upgrade. Would never have happened without @RobertD and @Squatting Pigeon steering me to the right place to make the deal. The community here is awesome.

Agreed about the community. And that is a really nice little trucklet you got there, @GODZILLA . :D

I kid. I’d actually love one as a dedicated trail rig.

I don't think you can really go wrong with the Tundra, 4Runner, or Tacoma for all rounder rigs. As long as you are aware of what they are and are not capable of, and you tailor your use to them. If I were still planning on more passengers and towing a travel trailer I would have stuck with the Tundra. If I didn't need the bed (and if they weren't more expensive than a Taco) I'd have gone with a 4Runner. The little trucklet of the Taco just fits what I need and want the best as an all rounder vehicle.

I went the other way and picked up another 5.7, lol. An LX. They’re both paid for, so maintenance and lots of fuel is in my future.

That's awesome! If I were going to have more than one vehicle I would probably have kept the Tundra for truck duty and gotten something a bit more fuel efficient and fun as a second vehicle. Alas, as I am the only driver I can't bring myself to pay for two full size autos. I'd rather have my SxS and/or a motorcycle I think.

I still want an older WRX or IS350 to daily, lol. It would be hard not to SC the IS…

Tell you what, if you want a WRX go for a 2017 Limited. It's the perfect version. Drove my brothers tuned 2007, and as fun as it was, I much preferred the 2.0. It was just smooth and fun. 2017 they had the kinks of the new engine worked out, has a 6 speed, higher quality headliner than the pre 2017s of the same generation, and in 2018 they tweaked the front end look and I didn't care for it. That's the only vehicle I regret getting rid of. I miss it a lot.

My brother in law is having major issues with his 2017 WRX for the second time in the last 3 years. He actually recommended against a Subaru when I was looking for a new vehicle recently.

Yeah, I would run mine pretty hard, and I’d be working on it constantly. That’s just part of the deal.

A 2011-ish IS350, maybe an F Sport, would be less hassle. Less fun stock. No rowing through the gears. Would need SC.

Really? I'm surprised. Did he tune or mod it? That's the only time I've heard issues on the later FA20s. Admittedly, I only had it for a little over 2 years and stopped following them when I traded it. Didn't want to salt the wound. lol

I think the only mod he has is an axle-back exhaust. Early 2020 it was a fuel injector that broke off or something like that, leading to it running rich.

I think the issue now is with a wheel bearing or something like that. Anyway, he says it's unsafe to drive and he's very angry at Subaru.

A defective injector can happen. Law of averages and all that, but it definitely sucks. Can't speak toward wheel bearings though. Never had issues with those on any vehicle I have had. :notsure: Any idea what kind of mileage he has on it? Eventually they need replaced, and a quick google question has a recommendation of replacement around 100K miles/160K km.

Only issue my WRX had was a crappy stock battery, but that's pretty common, and it's a consumable item.

Looks like everything is still on it. Can't see underneath, but don't see why they'd drop a transmission skid or a gas tank skid. Everything else is still on her in the pics. I don't think they could ask what they are without it.

I'd love it if somebody on the forum picked it up. Kinda like keeping a vehicle in the family that way.
