    Stuff I don't want follows:
    Connectivity kit
    Vehicle Protection Package
    Predator Tube Steps
    Mud Guards
Sport Bar (This one scares me because I don't see it anywhere on Toyota's site. Think it's a Gulf State thing like the wheels and stickers they toss on their "TSS" Tundras.)

It also has the bed lights and power tailgate lock that I do want.

Accessories total over $2K on the sheet sent to me.

Not sure what the Protection package is, that film?

I had the dealer take off carpet floor mats, predator steps and mud guards.

Probably take off that sports bar also

Nah. The protection package is their paint sealer and fabric guard. No PPF.

Lol bull bars and bed bars are very polarizing. People either love them or hate them. More often than not I have to say that I am on the hating side.

Also, do you not want the mud guards because you want to choose your own or because you don't want any at all?

Looking at the breakdown they have Solar Octane listed with a $425 "premium paint" charge. WTF? Toyota lists the color as a $0 choice. No upcharge.

This "MSRP" deal is getting bloated with accessories and upcharges.

First is the breakdown from Toyota.com of how I want it.
    Screenshot_20221026-142230_Samsung Internet.jpg

And here's what I'm being offered initially. They don't even total the cost, but it come out to $53,629 as they tally it. That's $2300ish in stuff I don't want, with a portion of it being an extra charge for the color. Really hoping this can be trimmed down.

Well, I think it's the distributor. It's in Texas, so it's Gulf States Toyota instead of Toyota of America.

Well, color me surprised. Got an email. He's putting in to have it adjusted to what I requested. If the distributor doesn't buck it, then I think I've found my Taco. :fingerscrossed:

Found out on TW that the sport bat doesn't drill in, so even if it were something I was stuck with I could pull it off and try to sell it.

It's not even built yet. Finishes production on the 7th. Dealer figures he'll have it the 15th. Trouble is, I go to work on nights on the 16th. 23rd/24th would be the earliest I could head out for Texas.

This is all still pending the trade in discussion that has yet to happen.

Tell him that the trade-in discussion better be favorable for you because there is a whole bunch of guys on the forums that would be very disappointed if you didn't get this truck :D

If it's not favorable I have no leverage, as every Solar Octane will sell the week it touches a lot. Simple reality. This has had enough ups and downs for the color, I'll buy local at MSRP and settle for white if I can't work this deal. I don't have much of an option that isn't a huge wait.

I am willing to travel for this truck at an approximate cost of $1000 for Solar Octane, but seeing that the southern distributor charges for the color makes it hit a bit harder. I am hopeful because of the forum recommendations, but I do still have financial limits. I also know the guy on the other side of the table has his own limits.

I don't really care about the individual numbers for the sale or the trade; as long as the difference between the two is at an acceptable level. I feel dumb for oversharing about my position, though. I gave a range of maximum acceptability for my side to the dealer. The cynic in me cannot help bet feel that was a mistake, and like I'm going to be milked for the upper limit of that range.

I know the invoice of a TRD Pro is well below MSRP and I looked at less well equipped trucks than mine that the dealer is selling. It should work out. The big struggle is slow communication. If I don't get word on the trade I don't know if I need to pull mods or not, and the window is closing for when I can do that. Again, having been boned by dealers, my brain goes to cynical bad places. Am I being stalled so I don't have time to pull my mods and I can be lowballed on the trade, then they can sell my Tundra at a huge markup over what they give me on trade? I hope not, but I also don't trust anyone. The thoughts are always there.

I totally understand what you're getting at. I have literally zero trust for dealerships as well. And honestly in modern times slow communication is unexcusable.
