Airing out the tent and trying out the tire step. I am so excited I might sleep in it tonight just cuz I can!

Also, the Rumpl is Stella approved.

I sat down and reached for the bag to put it away and in two seconds flat she trotted over and flopped..... so I need a new Rumpl cuz this is Stella's now.

It is. Slight change in venue, though. The road to the original place is closed. They've had 10" of snow in the last 4 days. Love Wyoming spring. :D

I'm telling you, you need one for your adventures! So much better than sleeping in the car.

Thank you! I'm thrilled so far.

Best towing mileage I've ever had. this was running 60-70 with the RZR, kayak, RTT, and all my gear.

    20220527_140119.jpg

Set up at a campground because the road to our original place was closed. Slept good, handled the wind well, and had no serious precipitation. Loved it.

Dude, that’s awesome. Glad the iKamper worked out for you. It looks nice. BTW, made the mistake of showing the son and daughter your pics and they saw your RZR. Guess why they want now.

Thanks, man. It really was a nice maiden voyage for the tent. Takes a little getting used to the way you climb/crawl in, but I slept well. Laid on top of the sleeping bag and covered up with my Rumpl...

OMGOSH! Rumpl blankets are freaking awesome. Second night got down to 34 degrees and I still didn't need anything else, so long as I kept covered. I bought the Rumpl expecting it to be overpriced garbage and I fully planned to expose it as such, but I was dead wrong.

As for the RZR, yeah. Everybody wants one once they ride in 'em. I had no interest. Thought they were a waste of money... then I rode in my brother's 4 seater turbo.... I've had 2 in 2 years.

I was shocked. That's all I used to stay warm when it was 34 degrees in the RTT. I slept great because the air in the tent was cold, but under the Rumpl was cozy. If you have access to ExpertVoice you can get a killer discount too.

Hey @GODZILLA just wanted to let you know that I blame you for my current camping predicament . Been doing a lot of camping with the Son lately in the truck. The little air conditioner has been wonderful. However, the wife and daughter have been getting upset and feeling left out. They went window shopping and then dragged me out and told me they want to be included and want one of these. Looks like the Red Tail RTC is out the window now. Your fault, all your fault. :p

Sounds like you need to take them out in the tent so they see what it is, and if they like that, then you get an off road trailer with another tent or two on it. Motorhomes are too expensive, high maintenance, hard to get around in, and don't hold value/sell well used.

    oh yeah, and

The problem is that the Mrs. likes creature comforts. She was on board for the Red Tail RTC, but she got together with the daughter and took matters in their own hands. Once they saw the amenities in a MH, I didn’t stand a chance. I agree with you on the cost and maintenance of a MH but we have been used to that for decades since we’ve owned several large boats that we used to travel in.

She got hooked because we live 10 minutes from 2 mega sized RV dealers. One has 900 units on their property and the other, which is right next door, has 500 units on property. I was actually quite surprised that unlike the current truck market which is selling at MSRP and higher, we were offered close to 40% off MSRP. They are trying g to clear out the ‘22 models since the ‘23 models will be arriving soon. Plus, MH’s are still significantly cheaper than their counterpart level in boats.

So when it comes down to it, I’ll continue the primitive camping with the son using the RN RTT on the Tundra and then begin our pre-retirement plans with the wife in a MH. Go figure.
