Well hot damn. I got notifications for both my rack and RTT. They both have estimated arrival dates for Monday! :yay:

I was expecting a month wait on both. Now I have to organize time and space for either storage or install.

Oh, I want to, but it's bitter cold out. Not quite tent weather. Plus, I've picked up extra shifts on my days off this month to pay for all this stuff. :spending:

I'm not sure how well the tent will handle being stored on the truck full time. Definitely something I need to research.

Another thing that has me really considering the roofnest is the track system. Since it blocks the third brake light I’m a big proponent for running something like a baja designs RTL-M on the back end of the tent. The track would make it super easy to mount.

Definitely an option. For me blocking the 3rd light just means I don't have to upgrade it to LEDs. :burp:

That's awesome! If you have any pics of it on the pallet I'd love to see them. Just trying to visualize what I'll be working with.

My bed rack showed up Monday, but weather has been cold AF and snowing so it's currently in my storage unit.

Sure, it ships vertically, Strapped to a rectangular shaped pallet. Took this pic due to a slightly damaged box corner. The cardboard is pretty thick and reinforced corners. I cut away and tore into that corner and all is good. A nice solid aluminum case in perfect condition underneath.

Thank you for the pics. I just know some of the freight delivery in my area gets abused pretty hard. None of them seem to be able to read things like "do not stack", "keep upright in shipping", etc.

Well hopefully yours comes in well. Mine had to cross the country. A shorter run would be beneficial. Do you have a tracking number yet?

@AzureNightmare BTW, I just looked and RoofNest has released the crossbars for the Condor Overlander. They offer them in both 54” and 60” widths.

At the moment I don't plan to be putting anything on top of the tent, but if a kayak ever happens... What I would like on the side rails is one of the batwing awnings. That cam all come much later though.

I know you don't have any plans to do so anytime soon but having a solar panel up there was just about perfect when I had my tent. Obviously wouldn't work with a kayak. I almost bought one of these for a solution to that "problem" since I had the solar panel already...expensive but talk about convenience...

The solar panel mount is something I kinda had in mind. What panels did you use and how did you mount them?

I have a Renogy 160W panel. Had the Eezi-Awn Blade tent with Eezi-Awn rack bars on it. Bolted the solar panel directly to the bars.

Well hot damn for anybody that wants a Falcon tent! $400 off the regular Falcon, $600 the Falcon XL, and a discount on the crossbars for the Falcon line! https://roofnest.com/

@Squatting Pigeon you need this! And look at the top of the pic at how you can finance it! :boink:

Also, this is a crazy good deal, so if there is another thread for sales this could go in be sure to share it!

@AzureNightmare I've spent the last half hour reading your thread and I can't believe how much it reminded me of myself. When I bought my truck I told my wife that I liked it the way it was and didn't understand why people spend thousands of dollars on mods. Well I think I'm close to $8000 on mods with a rack and an RTT. Now I get the sarcastic "I thought you liked your truck without all the modifications" lol. Anyway I enjoyed your thread. Post some pics when you get it installed.

Glad you enjoyed it and can relate. I think it's just something magical about the Tundra and brings out the desire to toy with it. It's the first vehicle I ever had that made me want to tinker at all. I'm never going to go all out like some of the long travel monsters and such, but it's still fun to customize it a bit.

On the note of pics, share some of your set up if you don't mind. We all like pictures here. :D

I was exactly the same way. Bought the truck with absolutely no plans to change a thing. Now, God knows how much money later and I’m still going. This forum is a bad example, bad, very bad.

Luckily, the wire just rolls with it and does not give me too much grief.
