I have almost 60k on my KO2's, which I absolutely love.

Sadly, when I replace them in the near future I just can't afford to get another set of KO2's. I need to go cheap.

I'm a huge fan of Discount Tire and I would like to limit my choices to tires they sell.

For roughly the same price, after rebates, I could get either Pathfinder AT's with a 50k warranty, or Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure with Kevlar with a 60k warranty.

I'm intrigued with the Kevlar sidewalls in the Goodyears. I probably worry more about blowing out the sidewalls than I do anything else.

I'm not a huge off-road driver, but several times a year I travel on rough (sharp rocky) four-wheel drive only roads to go fishing or camping. I also travel by myself a lot.

    I'm looking at size 275/70 R18 , E rated.

I was hoping someone has had experience with these tires.

    Thanks so much.

Look at the falkens at3s and general grabbers. The grabbers have a similar look like the ko2. They are own by continental tires

I came here to recommend these. I currently have around 11K miles on mine. Zero complaints yet. When I got them they were around 50% less than K02's and I bought them from Discount Tire.

OP needs cheap tires. Those are nearly as expensive as K02's.

I like you had KO's on my truck and loved the tire. I decided to go a different route when I put new shoes on my truck. I went with the Falkens and have not regretted it one bit. I think the tire is just as quiet and rides just as well as my KO's did at a lot less per tire. I don't think you could go wrong. For what it is worth, I seen where you were thinking about the pathfinders, I was as well and I put these two tires up beside one another and the appearance was no question, I really like the Falkens.

Just to help you out, The Discount Tire credit card usually has promotions. I just got mine in Dec and I got 9 months interest free. My payment is 75 a month but my tires were $322 per tire.

I have about 6k on a set of the Falkens and am very impressed. For as aggressive as they look they are great on the road and are remarkably quiet. And on dirt roads and grass they’ve been as grippy as I hoped.

If you can swing pay a little extra and get General Grabber ATX. These tires kick ass ATX kills it in light to super deep snow. They have saved my bacon many times this winter. We are having an extremely deep snow pack this winter. ATX plows through snow without hesitation. They are quite on road and ride well for a E rated tire. I am running 275 70 R18.

When I get my tires I was thinking of signing up for a Discount Tire credit card. If you do this I believe they will take $50 off the price of the tires...hey, I'm retired now and every bit helps.

I was planning on paying the tires off as soon as I got the first statement. Making monthly payments, even interest free ones, can be a slippery slope for me.

I did some initial research and I don't believe the DT credit card has an annual fee. It would be a deal killer for me if it did.

And yes, I will try to swing the Falkens. I have heard nothing but good things about them.

Before I had my current KO2's I had the previous iteration of the Falken Rocky Mountains and I never had an issue with them and the current tires are supposed to be even better.

    Thanks for the help.

I had the hankook dynapro ATMs on my second tacoma and last tundra. Nothing but great things to say about them, but they are a little over $200 a piece so not exactly cheap. waaaay cheaper than KO's tho that are over 250 in that size. no experience with the falkens but I'm going to consider them or the hankooks when the stock LTX AT2s wear out in a couple of yrs. can't come soon enough

After reading some of these posts and doing my own research I decided to go with the Falken Wildpeak AT3. I only rode from the tire shop but I must say they are really smooth and quiet. Almost feels like the trucks wearing slippers, in a good way. I will have to come back here and provide updates as far as tread life goes. I also read a few people complaining about MPG. I'll provide updates on that as well. For those of you who live in snow country. The tire tech told me that these tires are severe weather rated. Therefore if your road enforcement officials requires snow chains, these tires are good without chains and you won't get ticketed.

I always use my Discount credit card and look for their rebates along manufacturer rebates. I bought ST Maxxs for Tacoma and AT3s for daughter's Liberty and rebates totaled about $500. First time ever rebate on the Maxx's plus Labor day sale. I actually bought the Maxx's several months before installing. I take advantage of the interest free and just set up automatic payments so it is paid off before interest kicks in.
