Prefer they be made in USA.
Prefer there is more than 10-12 bits in the set
Prefer they go up to 5/8, maybe 1/2 but its not necessary.
Prefer theyre under $100 (which seems incredibly reasonable).

I've used the Irwin Black Oxides before but the smaller bits haven't stood up. Dewalt's titanium bits seem decent but they don't offer them with hex shanks to plug into my impact drills.

What have you guys used and where have you bought them? Thanks in advance.

Good suggestions! Looks like Milwaukee has some good impact options. Am I crazy that dewalt used to offer more options but no longer do?

Have you looked at a drill bit sharpener? I do steel fab work and was eating through bits, until I got a sharpener. I can even get super cheap bits to cut well, since it puts a new cutting edge on them every time.

I’ve never sharpened drill bits. It looks complicated. By the way, using a little bit of cutting oil make drilling much smoother and make the bit stays sharp much longer.

Pretty straight forward and not difficult. I agree with cutting oil. Makes a huge difference.

    This.
