Tufskinz. It's a thick black foam. It should cut down on rattles from crap rolling around on those surfaces.

The chrome is easy to take out. Paint/Dip that stuff black. That will add more black to the over all scheme and mellow out the red. Less is more. Less chrome, more black, winning.

I haven't done it, but I've looked at it, as far as I can remember there are those pressure clips around the side of the cup holder holding it to the surrounding bezel, you have to push in slightly from the outside to release... i'd feel around for those with something like a plastic puddy knife before going to town with the prying.. but i'm sure there's youtube videos / posts on here / someone will be by soon with better direction....

I got the cup holder surround off pretty easy. Waiting on first coat of plastidip to dry. Shifter surround doesn't want to let go. Hopefully someone that knows the trick will chime in.

IMO I'd black out the chrome cup holders and around shifter, and IMO it's a lil too much red, but it's how YOU like it

Easy peasy. 2 minutes tops. 6 clips for bigger piece. Have off. If want more pics I will leave for a few hours.

From what I understand you have to break off the melted plastic points under the bezel where it connects. You can dab some hot glue on the connection point to reconnect.. or not remove it and just paint the whole thing (mask over the PRND labels) - I think that's what @jewsNbrews did... right?

Unsnap two clips in middle, should be two on other side. Put shifter in neutral. Then lift up. Two pieces on the end fold down into console but not connected. Chrome piece can either be taken off breaking plastic beads and re glueing from underneath the puece or can just tape off the gears and just spray whole thing.

Wow what a difference the Chrome delete made. The red looks much less intense now and I think I like it.

It's your truck - you're the one that has to be happy about it!
Personally, I think it may be a little much... I think it may look better if the trey under the AC controls didnt have the red lines. But getting rid of that chrome definitely made it less busy! May look better if you did other interior mods like use red vinyl to cover the chrome accents around the vent covers... Kinda tie everything in.

Did you use plasti-dipped for those pieces?
Would you tell us how you did it? (how many coats, how long - drying time - between coats)
.. also follow up in like a month and let us know how it's holding up? :)

Of course I bring this up now that you're done, but I think @jewsNbrews used dupli-color or something along those lines...
Again, if you're happy with it, that's all that matters.

I want to get rid of the chrome / grey in the interior, just not sure what I want to do yet...
thinking about wrapping with some vinyl... need to see what others have done before I decide... thinking about doing some carbon fiber, but I dont want it to look shitty or too dated (carbon fiber look was big in the early 00's but I dont see it very much any more).
also thinking about doing some leather wrapping for the dash pieces...
Still need to finish the exterior before I start looking seriously at it.

Black it out or slap on some matte gunmetal for variety. It’ll look great then.

Love the grey with the black. Would look really good in my Platinum. Mind sharing what you used?
