I'm at almost 12k miles on my 23 Limited TRD OR, and it's been great. The handful of recalls have been quickly completed by my dealer, who also replaced the cracked lower side panel of my driver seat without hesitation. I don't have the hybrid, so I have plenty of storage under the backseat, but I do miss the bed cubbies I had on my second-gen Tacoma.

Not really a thread for negative, we know you hate the gen 3, that’s fine , respect that, but to come into a I love my gen 3 thread and post a “I hate it” was lame

rock on, you do you, we know what to expect here

Hey, sorry. I should have been more specific. I posted that in an attempt to show that the beloved Gen2 had its issues in the beginning and it is now a legendary vehicle. I own a 24 and love it, very happy to have it. It will one day prove the negative people wrong.

Very nice! Chicks dig Celestial Silver Metalic. It’s the hot older man of Tundra colors.

Don’t worry, when the 4th Gen comes out and all the second gen guys have to upgrade cause their trucks have been ran into the ground, we can go into their forums and talk about how reliable our 3rd gen’s have been for years to come.

LOL, now you did it :) My two gen 2.5 will outlive and outrun your turbos anytime. Time will tell but lets come back tot his thread years later :) 3rd gens are no longer built like a tank to last, just admit it. Now let's compare how many engine failures we had on the new gen 2.5 and 3rd gen? Anyone?

That'll be the year 2040, if toyota takes another 17 years to release the gen4 tundra

    That's so far away!

Loving my late 22 SR5 TRD Sport Premium. 17k miles and zero of the common issues on these boards.

My hypothesis has been Toyo simultaneously dropped 7 unique trim levels and some features and trims were (particularly higher models) not fully baked initially. Given the COVID supply chain issues phasing trims releases over a longer period would have been better for initial quality. They have been in catch-up mode

I've owned a bunch of new trucks and this is by far my favorite. I have no complaints. Its roomy, comfy, tons of power and very well built. I bought my first new truck in 1980. This is leaps and bounds ahead of that truck and all the ones in between.

Can always appreciate some good banter! Time will tell for sure, but in the meantime I’ll be driving around listening to my turbos spool with a big old smile! We might have engine failure in the new 3rd gen but we can all agree that at least Toyota is standing by their product and fixing it. At the end of the day we all drive Toyotas for a reason and it sure as hell beats any of the big 3 mid size trucks!

    Hello all, Good thread
Just completed a 5000 mile vacation towing our rv with the 2023 iforce Max. Flawless performance in everyway. I love this truck. Great tow vehicle, beats my old 2020 Ram. In every aspect of towing. This truck is ideal for this application.

We picked up our 1794 on Tuesday--14 May--$8k off MSRP. Couldn't pass it up since we were looking for everything it had on it. Actually placed deposit on it on 26 April and had them hold it until we returned from out of state.

Loving mine so far. It's had some quality issues and same recalls we all know about, but the dealership has taken care of all so far. No complaints here, it's been great otherwise. RC level and a few other changes/mods, nothing major.

Some guy on Tacomaworld said my Tundra will have the spun bearing, just a matter of time lol, it's sucks but such a small number. Dude made it sound like it's inevitable like replacing his smog pumps which will fail at some point.

edit: Love my 24 Pro and not a single issue in 8 mo/6k miles.

There's a cheap preventive fix for Tacoma smog pumps - it's the Uni Filter mod. You replace the factory foam filter with a Uni filter as the foam tends to disintegrate and wreck the pump. It's a smart mod for 4runners and 2nd gen Tundras with the air pump as well (reminder I need to to this to wife's T4R soon).

If dude didn't know about this simple mod and has been chewing through smog pumps he's not exactly a Tacomaworld grandmaster.

As to spun bearings - you either get a good motor or a not so good one. No sense worrying, just drive it and enjoy it

New member here I also enjoy my 24 limited. I had to do a few things for bed/tailgate rattle. But overall a nice ride added 18x9’s and 305/70/18’s Tundra has been great just few quirks with bed rail cap chatter tailgate chatter no biggie.

Drove mine off the lot with 4 miles straight from TN to FL 12 hours 70 to 90mph. Not a worry
