I loved my 22 Limited DC except the back seat and missing a few features. 23 Platinum fills in those blanks and I love it more. I work from home, go in to work 1-2 times a month, when I do, I take my truck because co-workers want to take my truck to lunch, enough said. Besides, I can't fit them all on my Harley or my Indian. :)

I love my 2023 as well. In love with my red interior and the hybrid battery deployment is very clever in when it switches the ICE off and just propels on the hybrid battery. Sounds great and I don't mind the sound augmenting either.

Couple minor hiccups....initial issue with active shudders, driving into a headwind at high speeds, shudder got stuck & caused CEL....happened 3-5 times during 1st year of ownership....had a software update preformed last summer & have not seen this issue again

Last summer (2023) one of the six coil packs failed causing CEL
Dealership replaced it on the house even though I was well out of bumper to bumper warranty with over 60k miles
& this past autumn I decided to do the spark plug swap & 2 more coil pack came out questionable (came out in two pieces) so outta caution for safety & reliability I replaced the two concerning coil packs

There are some non critical issues I've dealt with like weird rattle in dashboard, my gas tank cover bolt (one of them) broke & I'm using heavy duty HVAC zip ties to compensate, & the engine noise cover never stays in place (kinda just floats around in the top of the engine bay, since day one)...there are another 5-10 minor issues like these also
    That I can't recall at 6am....hehehe

My Truck Experience 2024 TRD PRO 6K Miles

    1. General Overview: I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my truck. It’s the perfect size for transporting my track bike and all my motorcycle equipment. The truck is a fantastic blend of a Raptor and a daily driver capable of long distances. The gas mileage is great with the 33’s 12-15 City 19-20 HWY. Once I wear these out, I’ll switch to some 35’s just for the aesthetic appeal. I’m really not off-roading the truck much, but it’s nice to have that capability when needed plus it looks cool.

    2. Driving Experience: The driving experience is generally smooth, although the hybrid system can be a bit clunky during starts and stops. Most of the time, it’s unnoticeable, but occasionally, it jolts when shutting off at lights. There’s also minor transmission shuddering at low RPMs, which can be resolved by giving it more gas, causing it to downshift and smooth out. This is much more noticeable in Eco mode, but it’s much better in Normal/Sport mode. Circular on-ramps specifically also make it more noticeable, although I’m not entirely sure why.

    3. Ride Quality: The ride quality is a significant improvement over my previous 2017 Chevy. Probably my favorite part of this truck is the suspension. I've loved the fox ride especially off road or hitting bumps on road.

    4. Maintenance and Upkeep: The recent ceramic coating has been a game-changer, causing rain to bead off effortlessly. Now, I can simply use a leaf blower for washes instead of having to towel dry the entire truck. Also doing 5K oil changes for peace of mind.

    5. Storage: One minor downside is the hybrid battery occupying all the under-seat storage.

    6. Issues Encountered: So far, I’ve encountered a couple of issues:
    • A parking ECU/Camera ECU failure, which was promptly replaced under warranty.
    • A paint defect involving clear coat and base coat separation due to the delivery wrap, which the dealer addressed by repainting the hood and rear quarter panel. (You can't tell where they repainted it looks excellent)
    7. Performance: Performance-wise, the truck is surprisingly fast for its size. If the road is even a little damp with the traction control off, it blows the tires off (which is fun). I really like how it handles too - it’s plenty good for a truck. It’s always funny taking my buddies for a ride and gunning it. People don’t expect a Tundra to be able to MOVE.

    8. Value and Cost: Admittedly, the price point is steep, but I think of it as my ‘Japanese Baby Raptor’. Given its potential for greater reliability, I believe it offers good value. However, I wouldn’t consider owning it without an extended warranty, given the amount of technology that could potentially fail.

Trucks are a lot like women. They all have their own issues and perks. Find one you like and keep it pushing.

My relationship with my truck is complicated, but yes I do like him. I like the combination of features and lighter weight that comes in a fully loaded SR5. The tow hitch and frame are also impressive.
