I do have a tonneau, but for me, a little water intrusion is far less of a problem than massive dust. The tonneau just doesn't keep any dust out when you're going for 50 miles a week on gravel and dirt roads. I'd like to be able to store some large items in my bed (like luggage) without worrying about the massive dust. So that solution seems to be storage boxes with either a foam gasket, or a very nice tight fitting cover?

I see solutions like Dee Zee Poly Utility Chests, but am wondering if there are better solutions. I see other boxes that are made of aluminum, and perhaps I could add weather stripping to those.

Just wondering what people here do themselves who must travel on dusty roads a lot.

Thanks DZ, that's an interesting idea.

Sure thing. It works well enough for the limited time I spend on gravel and dirt. Much better than without.

Cool. I knew of Pelican, but not Alubox. Alubox certainly seems like high quality products. I'm hoping to find something cheaper. I may drive a few hours to a military surplus store and see what kinds of containers they have there.
