I have 2017 4.6 v8 crewmax shortbed , can I pull trailer 29ft dry weight 4850 what is the max weight

    Not sure about your engine, but the 5.7 L tows up to approx 10,000 lbs. Payload is typically the limiting factor. Doubtful in your case because a 5,000 lb trailer should only have a hitch weight of 500 lbs or so. So you should be fine weight wise.

    29 feet is pretty long though. That is a lot of side force blowing on it while you are cruising down the highway. Be sure to get an anti sway hitch, weight distribution would be good too.

    I’m not a trailer expert but from what I’ve seen, 10% may be too conservative. Once you add on propane tanks, batteries, WDH, you’re probably at 15%.
