Somebody down the line definitely knew about this, those LCA's, alignment cams, front suspension, and exhaust are all brand new. I would really concentrate on the sentence below about getting the truck back to the dealer within 30 days of purchase. The dealer may string you along until those 30 days have passed and then tell you to get lost...

One may also ask, what are my rights as a used car buyer? If you've bought a used car that turns out to be faulty, then you are covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This means that you are entitled to a full refund if you take the car back to the dealer within 30 days of purchase if you can prove that the fault was already there when you purchased the car.

To everyone sayin you got what you deserve:

No, he didn't. Buying from a dealer online should be 100% safe. I bought a 91 SHO off of the shoforum from Indianapolis. I bought a plane ticket for me and my gf and we drove it back to Amarillo.

I'll go ahead and say that again: I bought a 30 year old taurus from a private seller on an internet forum, then drove it 1,000 miles back home. I took a risk and the risk was all on me.

This guy bought a low mileage tundra from a dealer online and had it shipped. When it arrived it wasn't as described. He got shafted. There was no risk on his part since it was from a dealer. He should be 100% clear from this purchase and I imagine after all the info is seeking legal action.

Sorry for the long wait. I was distraught, and really didn’t want to talk. The scum refunded me 21k and stole 4K. Yes I know I probably could have got it all back but by the time I pursued it in court I could have spent that on a lawyer plus travel and lodging if I had to go down to court. I’d like to gut him. But right now I’m just glad to be rid of it. Was picked up yesterday

well that sucks. I guess it’s better than being out all of it but you really might want to pursue legal action for the remainder. Often times, a simple demand letter from an attorney is enough to get them to pay up. If not there’s always the threat of internet shaming to go with it.

4k is a terrible loss, however its a lot better than a 25k loss. Shit happens, you got out of most of it and someone will read your experience and not get screwed over in the future as a result of learning from your experience. Hope the new truck treats you well!

Yep. I wouldn’t give up just yet. They’re counting on him giving up and eating it. I’d also be contacting the BBB.

You might not get the rest back, OP, but make him really earn it!

I've had rotten luck with the BBB. The customer leaves a complaint, the business response is usually something like "Customer contacted, issue resolved and customer happy." Whether or not the issue has been resolved. Case closed. BBB is for business not the customers.

I have to agree with @bmf4069 here. He didn't get what he deserved and no, this is not $4,000 "learning experience". I've purchased 2 older cars on the internet, from dealers, only viewed pictures, and had them shipped. They had descriptions from the selling dealer, I made a choice to purchase based on those descriptions and when the cars showed up, outside of a few very minor blemishes I couldn't see in photos, I got what I paid for.
I would tenaciously pursue the remainder of the money owed to me. They're hoping you'll be happy with the money you got.
    And, yes, call the BBB.

I'm happy for the OP that you have moved on and bought another Tundra. Everything comes with a price and if you're comfortable with the 4k loss, and look at it in the positive light (21k in your pocket, the problem is gone and you move on) then you have a great attitude!
Some folks would go for every penny, and rightfully so but, is it's also ok for folks like you to let it, and all the negativity with it, just be out of your life. Don't look back and never forget the lesson, but congrats on the new truck, and best of luck!

I’m with @KNABORES on this one. It’s the principle of the matter, and I’d pull out all stops. For the overwhelming majority of people, $4k is a big deal and very much worth fighting for. I bet for most people on this forum, $4k is a week or two worth of work at least.

Google reviews, BBB, Facebook, throwing a lawyer friend $100 to write a letter—I don’t care if someone on the internet says it’s pointless; if I’m being taken advantage of to the tune of $4k, I’m doing all these things.

Not sure if you wish to pursue this matter further, but perhaps filing a small claims action in that seller's local court of jurisdiction? No lawyers are needed. Best of luck with this...

This would be a slam dunk in Small Claims court. Any judge who sees the images will rule in your favor against a seller that is a preditor.

Yes but keep emotion and exaggeration out of it. State the proven or provable facts and have someone else proofread it before posting. Nothing screams lie like "Literally this has been the worst day in my life since this guy really, really screwed me over".
