These trucks DO NOT like aftermarket cats. They will throw a CEL.

2 options. Only option for no CEL is OEM. Second option is if you live in a state without inspections, go aftermarket and live with CEL. Your insurance will cover cat theft.

Magnaflow is the best option from what I've read but yes they can also throw codes. Use a Denso sensor and cross your fingers. At the least you'll be able to drive your truck and not have it sit on a dealer's lot for 3-6 mos.

You can always just go LT Headers, custom midpipes with after market cats, and eliminate the rear cats.
Then get a tune to eliminate the CEL.

You said it. If you're gonna do headers then kill the cats altogether. Avoid the future potential for cat theft. There are guys getting hit 2 or 3 times on the same vehicle.

Go to walker exhaust and type in your year and vehicle make and find out which cat will work for your state, or call them up. Replace oxygen sensor with Denso pen type. Really pretty simple except for paying for it. Mine were stolen in 2018 and I live in California , the toughest smog state. I did it myself for around $600

So, an aftermarket cat with this type of O2 sensor wont throw a check engine light? What does 'pen type' mean?

Make sure you buy cats that will pass smog form your state or you will never pass smog
