Since my posts were deleted from the engine failures thread, apparently there will be another recall coming for trucks manufactured until April 2024. My truck was manufactured 05/02/24, so I may get lucky and squeak past it, but I am not really sure. The bearings at No.1 and 4 have been updated after April.

The nature of the change is unknown to me at this time.

Presuming you got this from the Car Care Nut video he said that the two block part numbers changed in January of 2024. Based on what he said, and it makes sense to me, the Jan 2024 month would be the cutover date for the new block in factory production.

My information is that engines up to 04/24 will be recalled eventually. Anything after that should be fixed, finally.

My understanding is that this recall does not apply to any iForce Max Hybrid truck.

Is my information correct on this?

As of now - that’s correct. They’ll likely expand the recall once a fix is implemented. They said the hybrid system keeping power to the vehicle is why the hybrids weren’t recalled - not because there is no issue with them.

    A question, if I may.

Are my wheels this part number? The online catalogs do not list the part for 2024s yet, and the ones for a 2022 show a similar 6 spoke design, but the design in between the spokes seems to be a little different:

    PT946-34220-2F

The initial drive impression is very favorable. The fit and finish is definitely not up to Landcruiser levels, but acceptable.

    VCheng,
    Congrats on the new 1794.
A silver 1794 is the only color/model combo that looks really good with chrome in my humble opinion.

You have the TRD Offroad specific 20" wheels.
    p/n for those is: PT946-34221-F2
These are the same wheels I have on my TRD O/R Limited.

The p/n you listed, PT946-34220-2F, is the non-TRD Offroad 20" wheel.

    VCheng,
Congrats on the new truck. Looks great
Could you do me a favor and check your spare to see if it matches the other four?
    Thanks!

No, the spare is a steelie, and I think an 18 incher. That is exactly why I plan on getting a matching wheel so that I have the same sized spare that can used in a 5 tire rotation, or at least that is my plan.

Looks great, I love my limited, thoroughly impressed. Just a note, I have 66 miles on mine, got a screw barely puncture my rear drivers tire, those wildpeak “A” version are SHIT. Turns out weaker ply structure and only 9/32 new. Pathetic

put 275/65/20 recon grappler, SLs on it and man 10x better.

I really think they have answers. They just choose easy route and say they don't know. That way there is no debate, and you just look at salesman and go ahead and buy vehicle because you want it.

    VCheng,
Thanks for the reply. I would expect that to be a steel wheel. What I wanted to know is the make of tire on that spare. Is it a Falken?
I ask because on my 2024 TRD Limited, I got Falkens with the spare being a Michelin.

This is the spare tire on my truck:

    IMG_9449.jpg IMG_9450.jpg

I could not tell if this one has a TPMS sensor in it or not given the way it is mounted. If someone knows already (and a part number), I would like to find out without dropping the wheel.

Just because the parts catalog was updated in April doesn't tell you much. Toyota could have made a running change to the bearing spec in the manufacturing process long ago and only got around to updating the parts catalog in April.

Running changes are very common in the manufacturing process for a variety of reasons, including supplier issues and quality concerns.

My guess is they made the change sometime in 2023, which is likely why no 24's are included in the recall....yet at least.
