Speaking of ATV. That's one reason I prefer my DC. My full size Honda 700 sport quad fits nicely in the bed with the tailgate closed. I much prefer this method of transport vs the rear wheels sitting on the open tailgate.
The longer bed also is better when transporting kayaks. Perfect for me.

I think there's still 2021's out there but you'll have to be willing to travel if you want one. Only you can decide how desperate you are to attain one!

I was torn between a 2022 and 2021 Tundra. I wanted the V8 and old school styling but some of the new tech on the 2022 is also nice. I couldn't find a MBM 2021 Sport Premium or TRD Off Road Premium in a CrewMax that was local. There were only two SR5 TRD Off Road DC's remaining in Canada that were located back east. I'm currently waiting for my 2022 order of a Limited CrewMax TRD Off Road in Lunar Rock to be delivered as there is still no eta. I placed the order on Sept.28/21. I'm located in Vancouver, BC, Canada and the new Tundra's are finally making their way north of the border.

My dealer contacted me two weeks ago to let me know that a customer cancelled their order of a MBM 2021 CrewMax TRD Sport Premium. It is the last 2021 being delivered to BC and since I was first in line waiting for the 2022, I was asked if I wanted it. Without hesitation, I jumped on it! It is arriving next week and I'm very excited. What are the odds of someone cancelling their order for the exact colour and model that I wanted at the same dealer! I'm now a firm believer in fate!

I got tired of looking the dealers have not been helpful and where not willing to source me a slightly used one. I had one dealer search within a 3,000 mile radius with zero results on a ext cab his pc screen was blank, i will test drive it before descending at carmax.

I did see a 22 model with the front blacked out that did not look as bad they still look smaller for some reason.

The dealer that told you about the recall is correct but I don't understand what the recall has to do with finalizing the sale on it, if it is still available. The one that I'm picking up next week apparently has three current recalls on it but they are still finalizing the sale.

I spoke to a Toyota dealer manager and he told me that the conductor chip shortage is just one of the problems automakers are facing. He told me that Toyota is forced to cut back 70% production which is far more than any other manufacturer. The reasons are that the manufacturers of all the materials that they use are shut down due to Covid outbreaks again. He feels that things won't catch up and be back to normal until possibly 2025. The world has certainly changed these past few years!

I have no idea i talked to 7 dealers in my state they all said the same thing some where nicer than others. They told me that a used 2019-2021 will cost more than it did when it was new and i should just buy the 22 model others took my info and said they will keep a look out.

I want the ext cab there are not many of them around. When you do find one they are gone in 5min it seems.

I was under the impression the steering rack issue was a “stop sale” and that dealers could not take orders for or sell those vehicles until they are repaired. Regardless of whether they are delivered to the customer or not. Maybe I misunderstood.

You may be correct as I may have missed that. My dealer hasn't stated anything to me regarding that, but having said that, the vehicle is still in transit and when the recall came out, it may have been corrected at the factory before it was shipped. I will wait and see!

Here is the info. regarding the power steering recall...

November 24, 2021 — A Toyota power steering recall involves 2021 Toyota Tundra and 2021-2022 Toyota Sequoia vehicles to prevent power steering fluid leaks.

The Toyota Sequoia and Tundra recall includes about 22,000 vehicles in the U.S. and about 1,194 vehicles in Canada.

The Tundra and Sequoia vehicles may have manufacturing errors with the power steering gear assemblies that can cause a loss of power steering fluid.

Power steering will be suddenly lost if enough power steering fluid leaks out, but manual steering will remain.

The Toyota steering wheels will become more difficult to turn if power steering fails, a problem that is more dangerous when driving slow speeds.

The Toyota Tundras were built August 5 through October 18, 2021, and the Sequoias were manufactured from July 28 to October 25, 2021.

Model year 2021 Toyota Tundra and 2021-2022 Toyota Sequoia owners will be contacted toward the end of January 2022 about the recall.

Toyota dealerships will inspect and possibly replace the power steering gear assemblies.

Toyota owners with questions should call 800-331-4331 and use recall number 21TB10 or recall number 21TA10.

Congratulations! Cement and Lunar Rock would've been my first choices but not available on the TRD Sport Premium. MBM was my third choice.

I'm anxious to pick mine up next week! First pick up I've ever purchased!

The “stop sale” is a rule imposed by NHTSA on Toyota and dealers if the affected vehicle is not in the hands of the buyer due to the safety related recall. Vehicles still technically owned by Toyota at the time of the “stop sale” (in transit, at the port or at the rail yard) may not be transferred to the dealer or customer, and vehicles under dealer control may not be sold or transferred to the customer until it is inspected and repaired if needed. If the vehicle is under control of the customer, it is still subject to the recall, but you control the vehicle. There are 2 recalls involving the steering racks. The original that is listed above involving 22,000 vehicles, where one in four are defective due to a broken cutter for the circlip groove supplied by the vendor. The second recall involves the approximately 151 vehicles repaired from stock inventory that were manufactured during the bad manufacturing run. It sounds confusing, but inventory is ever so slowly being replaced and it appears that the priority is being given to customer owned vehicles for inspection and repair. My truck was in the rail yard - owned by Toyota at the time of the stop sale (around 10 November) and the dealer can’t touch it even to conduct an inspection to determine if a repair is needed. That is just the way it is...

That is great info.! I picked up my 2021 a few weeks ago and it was manufactured in Sept. after the affected vehicles. It wasn't one of the Canadian vehicles affected.
