Well the SC will have to wait. Im hunting / tracking down / researching what to do on the gears right now. Saw a post from another guy who said that the Tow Package 4.3's were fine. Will drive mine a bit to see what I get without then make a decision. Lots of very flat ground here in Texas.

Welcome to the dark side. I had an '06 Taco 6spd too, and an '83 and '84 4x4 pickup before that. Never thought I'd join the automatic crowd.

Welcome to the forum! That's a great looking 2gen Tundra! I'm currently running 37s with the stock 4.30 gears. I'm changing my gears to 4.88 next month to help bring it back closer to the stock specs. Best of luck to you.

I see that your also running the stock front bumper. Are you having any clearance issue with those 37's? I looked at mine and it looks like I might get into the bumper and the body mounts whith 37's

When you go with larger tires like 37s you loose exceleration and towing performance. By regearing the truck it will make the truck excelerate, tow and drive more like it's on the stock size tires. Another large advantage is it will help prolong your drivetrain since it won't have to work as hard to turn the oversized 37" tires. My front bumper has been cut and I also had the body mount cut and a welding plate installed to fill the cut. Fitting 37s will depend on your offset of your rims and the size of the lift. My particular setup was more challenging because my rims are a -51 offset.

What size lift do you have? Do you know what your rims size and offset are?

My lift is 7" and I am not sure on my offset. Looking at it with the current 325x60x20 Nittos and it looks like its going to be tight with the 37x12.5x20's. They are 1.4 taller and a bit narrower. I figured I would have to do something with the bumper and body mounts. My Taco was the same way when I stuffed big tires on it. Ive got a new front (and rear) bumper on the way and the 37's should clear it but I am pretty sure that I will have to get out the grinder on the body mounts.

100% agree with Sean. Dirty Deeds will fill your head with gearing and exhaust knowledge that your head will spin. Take it from me, I have 37's, and the truck and yourself will be thanking you for a re-gear. 4:88's are the only aftermarket gears at this time and you're looking around 2K-3K for front and rear installed.

Man you stole the thing! Well done. If you're looking for a cheap but extremely good looking mod, Search for blacked out badges. I think you would be really happy with it.

That feeling of abandoning your Taco will soon go away once you get used to the interior space and power of the Tundra. Especially when its one clean looking Tundra that you have!! Congrats and welcome!

I was coming out of a convince store the other day and a lady passing by said "Nice looking Dodge Ram"

So I ordered a Toyota Tundra badge, drilled and counter sunk it, and used stainless screws and nuts to mount it on the M1 Grill.
