I drove 1000 miles to kidnap my new '19 Pro from Texas today...

After much waiting, drooling and talking to my local dealers (one of which I had a deposit down since the new Pro was announced), I elected to look outside my region and closer to the San Antonio plant to see if I could scoop a new Pro without having to wait for one to drop in Colorado.

I got lucky and found this one on the ground in Amarillo, and Street Toyota was awesome to work with. I gave a deposit over the phone immediately after confirming it was available last week, worked out the trade value for my '17 SR5 rig, and drove down there from Fort Collins today to take delivery, roughly 1000 miles round-trip. The process was smooth, and faster than I've experienced in a while, those guys know what they're doing. I paid MSRP at 53xxx with no BS fees or additional nonsense, AND I found some room to negotiate my trade much higher than I was expecting, so I was happy with the deal.

Overall, I'm super excited. Coming from a 16 Pro and then a 17 SR5 with some mods, this is my favorite by a huge margin. Here's a couple of my thoughts after driving it 500 miles home:

First, the driver seat is 10-way power, but the passenger seat is full MANUAL. I was not expecting that after reading the all the online info / literature...really, Toyota? Also, although the full Safety Sense kit is accounted for, they left out the blind spot monitoring / cross path for some reason, even though the website showed it as standard. I loved that feature...weird that it's missing.

Another oddity is some of the Gulf States port-installed options on my truck, including LED bed lighting and power-locking tailgate, neither of which I've ever seen on a Tundra from the factory. They work great, so that's just a bonus. The clear-bra they installed was done perfectly, on the hood, fenders, headlight trim, mirrors and door handle cups. It also came with rails, spray-in bedliner, Westin tube steps (I hate these, but they work as door ding protectors) and matte red / black TRD Pro and Tundra inlays, which look sweet.

The new suspension is fantastic! Coming from a lifted truck on E-rated BFG K02's, the new truck rides like a Cadillac. MUCH more controlled and planted on the highway, and just eats bumps. I found some dirt on the way home, and it performed well there, too. The LED lighting is awesome, as I'm sure all the 18 owners have testified to, and finally...FINALLY I can run the fogs with the DRL's!

Here's some pics of the adventure, first one is on the way down, I think the WarPig knew she was getting traded when we crossed the border.

Right you are, good sir. I've had K02s on my last two trucks, I'll likely shoe on a pair of those pretty soon.

That a factory spray in liner or something the dealer did? If its factory I'm glad to see they are now spraying the rear tie down hooks, mine were unsprayed from the factory and are all chipped up now. Great looking truck!

The Bilstein's felt a little firmer to me, but somehow not as planted. I'll need to get off the pavement a bit more to see how these do in some terrain.

The spray-liner was done at the port by Gulf States Toyota, I've heard that the factory doesn't do spray-liners on trucks with a sunroof (for some odd reason), but I haven't been able to absolutely confirm that.

Yeah, the work on the liner is really good, with sharp, even lines and good coverage.
