I love it. I will miss my 4Runner, though. That thing was a mountain goat. But I’m really enjoying all the extra room and power! Can’t wait to take my family dispersed camping ASAP.

    Immediate impressions:

    • Feels extremely strong.
    • I like the firmer OR suspension.
    • I thought I would immediately want to dechrome it, but all I think I’m gonna do is lose the SR5 badges.
    • It has a TON of space in the cab, but I wish there were more places to store things (ratchet straps, etc). I mean, the console storage is huge, but it’s kinda weird that there aren’t any cubbies under or behind the rear seat.
    • For being an ancient design (kinda why I bought it), it sure does have some cool features. I won’t use half the apps available, but I will use Apple CarPlay. And I dig the headlight angle adjustment on the dash.

I was also thrilled to find one without any steps or a dealer-added bed rack or whatever. The thing on the hood and the windows, I’m kinda meh about. Seems that they just add wind noise.

LAST THING: a small victory—I snatched it up before the dealer had a chance to drill the front license plate bracket into my bumper.

Wait, the crewmax's don't have storage under the seats? Is that on all of them? I definitely enjoy having the storage under the seats in my 16 DC

that’s how it is on all of them. You can purchase storage as an aftermarket upgrade. You kinda have to cut up your carpet for it to fit though

yeah just saw that thread after my post. kinda blows my mind they don't have storage with all the room back there. If you get shafted with a tiny 5.5 ft bed they should at least give ya storage inside and not just a dinky extra bit of leg room haha

Nice Army Green! Those window vent shades are nice. I don't get wind noise. I've never been too keen on the hood rock shield designs out there for the 3rd gens though.

Congrats! That green really looks good with the chrome and black accents. I came from a 4Runner as well. At times I do miss it but ultimately I wouldn’t want to go back. The Tundra is much more comfortable, powerful, and larger interior.

Yeah, just sucks that Toyota do not offer underseat storage on CM. I use mine frequently in my EC. Jumper cables, 4 way tire wrench, long arm ice scraper, Gazeteer, etc. Perfect storage for longer items. Fortunately, it looks like the aftermarket has a solution for the CM with the 3 bins.

This is the first truck that has ever made me question my choice of Cavalry Blue.... call me crazy, but I think the Army Green needs the chrome grille. The hood deflector is a nice accent, IMO.

Congrats, and props on dodging the front plate!

I don't call 12" a "tiny bit of extra leg room". At least you can sit an adult back there without your knees up under your chin lol
