Well, I just knock my first auto cross out. It was fun and I pushed a lot harder than I thought I would, I came in dead last in my class (no surprise) but I started with a 71 second lap and finished with a 67. I did break my shift knob! Overall, good day!

The only way you break your shift knob is by having a blast

An opportunity to add a new Voodoo shift knob! I had several when I had my NA and would swap them out for a little variety. Great quality and reasonably priced:thumbsup:

Today I removed the factory spoiler and installed a carbon fiber one! I have to clean off some adhesive from the old one, but it was good enough for pictures

Nice NC! True red is the best color. Used to have an 06 GT. Is the new motor a 2.5? That was my next step before i sold it. The current owner is about to bite the bullet after blowing the stock 2.0.

Infact, the motor is a 2.5, should be about 230rwhp and 210tq with the BC stage 2 plus cams, big ass header and the ITB’s

side note…. I am fighting with fed ex about stuff that is lost in fed ex hell…. First is my only plate to date that hasn’t been delivered, second is the tires for my new wheels that are teasing me in the back of my truck…. The car is going to the shop likely this week to get swapped

That's a great power level for the chassis. Glad you're going NA.

I think it is plenty of power for the setup. If I build the chassis up and need more power, I will probably put an aluminum 5.3 LS in there and aim for 350-400 hp. But I have a hard time believing I need that much power

A guy i knew in VA had a stormy blue NC2 with an LS3. Its a rocket. The bay has so much space that the LS drops in really easily. Just depends on what type of build you're going for. I hated the 2.0 MZR, a lawnmower had more torque but it was fun to wring out at the limit. An LS starts to go into big boy power to weight ratios and is a different animal.

I 100% agree, the stock 2.0 is an absolute turd. But with another 80-90 hp and 100ish tq I think it will make a big difference

Haha, the swap is planned well, but I think the ITB’s may cause some issues on the getting it running and tuning end

Miatas are fine cars! We had a total of 7 over the years (NA, NB, NC). The NB was my favorite. Excellent cars with dead nuts reliability and great gas mileage. After the Miatas came a Z4, which had more room and more power! Now, we're done with convertibles since living on a farm (gravel roads) is not friendly to low slung cars. You need to make the trek to Miatas at the Gap (MATG). Its in August this year. Lots of fun and LOTS of Miatas/people. Enjoy the ride..

Today was the big day, DYNO DAY!!!

I drove my car from the shop to the dyno, and during that time, the turn buckle for tuning the ITB throttle position loosened up… was a miserable drive but I limped it in…. Got it all fixed and set pretty close to perfect and sent it! It needs more tuning that will take time from driving and data logs. It made 194/188 (dyno is known for low numbers). The car that got my old motor is going to make some runs on the dyno to get a base line. The car drives well, but it is raining and I can’t push it too hard, plus I am still breaking in the new diff and clutch.

There were issues with the tach signal all day… I am excited to get this tuned out the rest of the way

194/188 sounds like plenty for a car that light...

Getting the “race car” alignment today, I haven’t driven it on the highway yet because it hasn’t been aligned…
-2.2 front and -2 rear for camber
    A smidge of toe in
And about a 5 for caster
And a picture while I was waiting for it to go in

Looks great. Makes me miss mine. Any sound clips and pics? I've never heard one with ITB's.

So, I drove it a bit, dropped it off the shop, had it adjusted and some stuff that didn’t get done before dyno day done. I got another tune and it is better and worse. But the car is going back to the shop Monday to get my roll bar and harnesses installed, 25 row oil cooler put in (my oil temps have been too high…) and an aluminum under tray to replace the worn out plastic one.

Hand washed it for the first time since it went into the shop, waxed and buffed the new passenger door and some other spots. The car is covered in scratches and chips, but it isn’t a show car! I wanted it pretty for the shop tomorrow! Took it for a long drive after it was clean and I cooled down in the AC. Thing is so much fun to drive!!

Enjoying your documentation. I'll be not too far behind on an NC with 2.5L transplant. Were you getting yours done through Dynotronics?

    Bad company…

I had mine done by AR Hindrichs. He is a real subject matter expert and takes these 2.5 swaps very seriously. My car is at his shop now getting the roll bar finished up and the oil cooler setup done.

Love the Blackbird bar. Glad to see Dynotronics is still garbage, i remember all the nonsense the owner used to post on the forums and FB. Guy was far too emotional. AR Hindrichs is legit, very knowledgeable and nice guy. NC is looking great man! Ever consider an NC3 Club bumper?
