When I was 10, my father handed me a nautical map with a compass rose and a set of navigation rulers. Told me to plot a course to a small island about 50 miles offshore and then set out. Using only a compass and taking into account currents and wind I hit it within a quarter mile. Basic navigation is important.

I get a laugh out of paranoid people. I work in Cyber Security what people think keeps them anonymous is quite entertaining.

I used to work for a cable company and was in charge of sending out techs to repair lines. They always went in pairs. We had one guy whose shirt would always come untucked. His partner and I agree to play a joke on him one day. His partner radioed in the key word. After a few minutes I radioed the first guy and told him that he needed to tuck his shirt in. He asked me how I knew that and I told him I was watching him from a satellite. We kept this up for a while. His partner would send me messages and I would call the other guy telling he need to tuck his shirt in, tie his shoes or other things that I 'could' see from the satellite. One day he got tired of it and came to the office and demanded that I show him this satellite that was watching him. I brought up google street view and told him they were live snap shots. I also pulled up Google Earth and told him I had the power to see anything I wanted around the world at any given time. I quit that job a year later. He still thought I was watching him. Good times.

I think disabling the blue tooth should do it. The GPS is a receiver, but the Bluetooth connection to a cellular device will enable you to be tracked. But your cellphone is always on the network.

Pay cash for a prepaid phone without Bluetooth and throw it away when it runs out of minutes and buy another from another store. Stay away from stores with video cameras.

If people knew what mobile carriers, Google and ISP's knew about them the GPS antenna would be the least of thier worries.

There are a few tools out there you can run to see a sample...its scary and creepy.

AI is making it even more creepy. Trust me, if you have a computer or a smart phone "they" already know more about you than you do and cutting an antenna equates to nothing more than putting on a baseball cap thinking your family wont recognize you.

I have a brother that is nearly invisible. Owes nothing, does not have a phone. Changes his email address every 6 months or so, and only goes on line at public WiFi locations. All his vehicles are old enough that they have carburetors. He works off the books and is not married.
Just saying, it’s possible, just hard to do for “normal” people.

What is the point of this thread again? I thought this was a truck forum ??? I read the OP and it sounded like he was trying to disable the GPS signal.

Seriously like already mentioned you should be able to simply disconnect receiver antenna...... or seriously downgrade your HU........to something like my POS 07 HU!

You can turn everything off but the machines will just send someone back yesterday and turn it back on or plug it in. That’s what keeps happening to me anyway.

Alaska is the ideal place to go off grid. Met a few of "them".

Yeah, I’ve heard that about Alaska. There’s quite a few scattered around the southwest and I’ve also heard parts of Appalachia.

It’s ironic, if you were off the grid, you wouldn’t be on this forum. Couldn’t have asked the question to get off the grid. It’s a Chinese riddle.
