Put a build order for 2022 TRD Pro. That gonna replace wife's miserable '16 Volvo XC60.

With 3 kids cargo space in Sequoia is a concern, but I better spend another $1000 for roof box and still drive the reliable car. We plan to take it to less densely populated places, so reliability is a cornerstone. We also have my Tundra for driving short distances and a lot of stuff.

Gas mileage is not a concern: I spend about same money on gas for Tundra and '05 Volvo XC70.

I don't mind the turbos, but after spending years laying under, atop and along the luxury cars and dumping enough cash on parts to buy a new Tundra I want nothing, but reliability ;)

Also both wife and I are software engineers, in close to hardware areas - I'm developing, she's QA - and we trust no software. It's a pile of bugs, always. The less touchscreens and unneeded funky functions in vehicle the better :)

Reliability is what is steering me away from the Wagoneer, even though I had great luck with 3 prior Jeeps with 10 year ownership on each, it is too new. Has TONS of space and capability. The Wagoneer is just a bit larger than the STD wheel base Expedition/Tahoe and a little shorter than the extended versions of both. I am hoping the Sequoia will be similar in size and have the same or close to to capacity of the Tundra.

Whatever this forum told me to do
Wagoneer...on our way to the airport in mid dec, we saw a new wagoneer in front of us. every time he changed pedal position, it belched out blue smoke.

this thing had paper plates on it.

    maybe a one off....maybe Fiat.

The dealer is in far-far Boston suburbs, not very large. He wanted $5k on top of MSRP for the vehicle delivered in May-June time frame :(

Might be good. There’s folks with a “pro order” but their dealer has yet to receive any of the regular 22’s. And if they ain’t getting those they ain’t getting a pro lol

More of a 22 tundra front end on this rendering

As the former owner of a 2014 Jeep SRT, it has very similar lines.

If it ends up looking like that, I’d love it.

I just sold my 2012 Sequoia for 1/2 of what I paid for it new in 2012. There's a 2022 Sequoia TRD Pro Lunar Rock with my name on it at the dealer (just waiting for the steering rack recall so that it can be delivered), and now there's the Tuesday release of the 2023 all-new Sequoia. It's going to have to completely blow the old one out of the water for me to change my mind. It needs to be the same size or larger, needs to have a rear locker, MTS, crawl control, KDSS suspension, and the hybrid motor, and it absolutely cannot have the God-awful 2022 Tundra front end. I shouldn't even have to mention that has to have recovery hooks.

I don't care whether it has a 14 foot touchscreen Toyota, I need it to be a solid SUV that doesn't require the removal of the body in 10 years to replace the turbos!!

The current Sequoia is painfully out of date.

That being said, out of all the brands/models that are of its age this is the one that has stood the test of time.

I would be very happy to drive the current gen Sequoia. Hopefully the next gen will carry on the Sequoia's appeal.

I REALLY like that, but would want the FooManchoo chrome painted body color like the Capstone.

    Request granted.

It won’t need a body off frame for new turbos in 10 years…. It will need a body off for new turbos in the first 10 days!

    Too soon?

The next step for Toyota is inline-6 turbo. Everything is much simpler with the inline engine. Or inline-5 :) Uneven cylinders engines sound amazing! Like a baby V10!

I know Ford ignored them for a while.

But, didn't they put the new Tundra up against the R1T? I dunno.....
