Question about the TRD Pro 23 Sequoia. I just got allocated one and it has the tow mirrors on which I don't want. The dealer told me that they only are making the TRD Pro Sequoia with the tow mirrors at this point. It didn't sound right to me. Any dealers or owners out there have any insight on this. Best bet will be to get them changed out.

Not yet, we have 2 that are days away from getting to the dealership

Toyota's in a weird phase right now. Kind of a close enough situation. So usually I'd say that's odd but they wouldn't take off the wheel locks on my build.

It's a $290 option when you go build one on the configuration site. I suspect the dealer ordered it with it to squeeze more money from the consumer.

A dealer isnt "squeezing more money" on a $300 option when that Pro sells for $10k over MSRP everyday of the week.

If one was able to get an extra 10k for a pro, what's an extra $300?

Saw a new Sequoia at a dealership today. I was picking up parts to mod my LX’s front brakes with Tundra brakes.

It looks cool, but I’m still bummed about the transfer case, interior cargo space (which I read somewhere is the same volume as a 5th gen 4Runner!), and rear window.

So much less utility than the 2nd gen. But it tows more, looks cool, and will show 18mpg on the dash.

I'm seeing '23's on Autotrader in Denver, all just a bit above MSRP. $69k-$70k for an SR5 4WD, $82k for a Pro. All showing "Pending Sold" status. Apparently they're being jumped on by people that have a lot more money than I'm willing to spend. I'm currently trying to figure how I can afford a used cargo van, a real cargo volume AWD van. Used AWD Ford Transit prices are ridiculous.

No, only flat floor cargo vans. Two front seats, max cargo volume rear and AWD.

I was looking at the base 2023 Suburban LS 5.3 this weekend. The cargo and passenger space is good, the overall GM feel is also there. Not sure if I need the space that bad right now…

    * '23 Suburban is 145 cu ft behind 1st row.
    * '23 Tahoe is 123 cu ft behind 1st row.
    * '23 Expedition is 105 cu ft behind 1st row, Expedition Max is 121 cu ft behind 1st row.
    * '23 Sequoia is 87 cu ft behind 1st row, and not what I would call a usable cargo area because doesn't have a flat floor from the rear hatch to the front seatbacks.
    * '23 4Runner is 89 cu ft behind 1st row.
    * '21 Sequoia is 121 cu ft behind 1st row.
    * 2014 Chevy Express 1500 AWD cargo van is 240 cu ft behind 1st row, 2k lb cargo weight. GM AWD vans were 1/2 ton versions only, so good cargo volume but not all that much cargo weight.
    * Ford Transit AWD cargo vans there's about a hundred versions from 1/2 ton to 1 ton, low roof, medium roof, high roof, various wheelbase, engine choices.

That's what I've been researching on two levels - one level is can I improve on the '19 Sequoia somehow at a reasonable price? That's an emphatic no IMO. She does everything well and we put about $2k of upgrades into it.

The second level is can I improve on the current Express 2500 RWD with 260k miles at a reasonable cost? AWD is an emphatic yes, instant upgrade for yearround driving in the Four Corner states. Reasonable cost is a problem, though. I'm seeing used Ford Transit AWD's that are out of warranty and dealers are asking more than the original MSRP. Carfax often shows the original window sticker, so it's easy to see the gouging.

I'm kinda liking this '08 Express AWD if I could get it for $10-$12K. Colorado vehicle since new, Carfax shows diff fluids, tcase, trans had fluid swaps. 147k miles but could maybe get seven years of good usage from it if it isn't a leaker. $24k asking price won't work for me, but I'd like to have something like that a reasonable price. https://www.mrrobertsautosalesinc.c...-Van-AWD-1500-135-for-sale-in-Denver-CO-80221

I like this thing, but starting at $76k in Canada, it is kinda moot point, by the time you get to a Capstone its same price as an Escalade/X7 etc.

Wow, that cargo volume is terrible.

Also surprised to see such a small difference between Tahoe and Suburban.

I think SRA Suburban vs the newer IRS Tahoe makes the difference. A 2019 Tahoe has 95 cu ft behind the 1st row because SRA. I was surprised the Expedition Max is the same cargo volume as the 2G Sequoia.

I'm convinced by now the '19 Sequoia is a keeper. I tried looking at upgrades but I'm not seeing any. Even MPG (which was the downer I saw in reviews) isn't all that bad when I look at fuelly.com comparisons.

Just looked at a 23 Sequoia. Overall I liked it but The inability of the 3rd row seat to fold flat is a deal breaker. Has anyone tried to remove it?

I think if its based on interior volume, I think nothing is going to beat Wagoneer L, 179.3 cu in, I saw one on the road another day, and its overall length is same as the truck, which totally blew my mind.

According to Mike Sweers it is non-removal because it's integral to the hybrid battery enclosure. Goofy decision IMO to go hybrid only on all trims. I certainly don't need 583tq and 9k lbs towing in an SUV, plain old TTV6 would do fine.
Everything I've looked at that is 190" or more total length has more cargo volume behind the 1st row than the 3G Sequoia. Such a missed opportunity IMO to increase sales volume. Make it without the hybrid system and even with SRA it would be up around 100 cu ft.

They tried to make it too many different things. Tried to make it a Land Cruiser replacement, tried to make it a family hauler, tried to make it the most powerful in segment, tried to make it the most tow capacity in segment.

I can see the Land Cruiser emulation, it will be very good offroad with SRA, Crawl Control, rear locker, ability to slap 35's on easily, the same aftermarket support the Tundra has. A cheap bare bones SR5 4WD TRDOR non-hybrid would be an intriguing option for doing an Overland build because usable cargo volume behind the 1st and 2nd row.

Toyota did the same thing with the Venza...we're in the market to update wife's 08 RX 350 Lexus and that ain't happening with Toyota's hybrid-only BS.
Will be buying another RX while it can still be had with the standard ICE.

A comparison to the current 4Runner. I'll give Mike Sweers credit for keeping it in the lineup. I bet he had to pound the table to get the Board of Directors to approve a 3G. I think Sweers knew it would be so embarrassing for the brand to vacate the fullsize SUV market in North America, especially after withdrawing the Land Cruiser.
