Looks like the Sequoia may be going the way of the Venza and Sienna, which in my book isn't exactly terrible. 11 mpg on grocery runs and 15-16 on highway trips for my 2nd gen is getting to be tough to swallow

The article, which I didn't read probably spelled out why.

I know the caption for all the pics said Sequoia Hybrid

well damn new sequoia looks good. I can see people swapping the sequoia front end to the tundra this time around.

If that is true, then Toyota may want to rethink the hybrid option or come up with a better place to have the battery. The latter being difficult since it is a massive battery. The rear seat storage in the Tundra is already gone with it. They even said they did the hybrid for power and not gas mileage. If that was the case, then they should have just done a TTV8. The X7 gets 15/21 with a TTV8. Expedition with TTV6 gets 17/23. The 4.6L V8 with TT would be awesome.

It's poor packaging. Ford managed to squeeze a hybrid battery between the framerails to retain interior space and they offer an onboard generator as well.

This is clearly a less expensive version of the Lexus LX 600 which hits dealers next month. I don’t think production will be that far away. The vehicle is half tundra and half Lx 600 so the supply chain for parts should be rather straight forward

Maybe. Yukon AT4 is in the $80s. Will be interesting to see what a Pro or Capstone list for.

Not that I know of, but the last couple releases Toyota has done were leakier than pasta strainer. I don’t see them making any attempt to put the cat back in the bag here.

3" OME lift w/ UCAs. ARE overland shell w/ ARE roof rack. 34" Falken Wildpeaks. ARB awning. Road shower. Wilco Offroad Hitchgate Solo High Clearance. LED lighting upgrades. Lockerdown console safe. Weathertech floormats. Duluth deluxe rear seat cover to go under the offroad approved car seats.... :P
Looks like this may be the replacement for my wife's RX350 when she hits 225k miles in two or three years. Still have my fingers crossed for a hybrid 4-runner for her, but this may take the cake... Good looking budget LC300 series replacement. Could never sell her on a V8... but a V6 hybrid that gets 25ish mpg, now that's wifespeak.

I agree. Locally, we're already at a $10k adjustment on the old Pro. If you want a new Pro, you'll have to get in line and pay a crapload. Or you can wait a while and pay $5k less.

The Pro is a nice looking truck. It'll probably end up too spendy to justify trading in my 2018 Tundra and although it shows the Airstream like everyone else, it isn't going to pull our trailer like my truck.

I cant even imagine what all those are going to cost given the price increase of the tundra

front end looks way better than the tundra though

i'm not one to jump to a new vehicle when they come out, but if they get the turbo issues straightened out and the hybrid doesn't create issues, i may be jumping ship to get the new one. I like my '21 pro, but an increase in gas mileage would be nice with me driving about 40-50+ miles daily.

I am sitting between 80 and 100 gallons per month of fuel consumption with my Sequoia. The hybrid option is indeed tempting.

Same. Going from the 38 gallon tundra back to the 26 gallon sequoia makes me have to stop more often. not terrible, but it'd be nice not having to every 4 or 5 days
