LOL. The sheer rage if it did would be epic.

Just imagine if the Sequoia got a big V8 as an option that included tow hooks.

TFL just released a video walk around of the Capstone Tundra. I'd bet the new Sequoia is there also.

Imagine rage if you could get a 6.6L DOHC V8 with D4S as an option. Maybe throw in a 4.5L twin turbo V8 too. Only on the Sequoia. Tundra peasants get to make do with a V6.

There would be Sequoia pickup conversions for “only” $100K plus base Sequoia donor vehicle.

Yeah @Coal Dragger wins the day with his tounge and cheek humor about Toyota always copying Ford. "Toyote" V8 had me rolling.

    I can’t claim that one.

Believe it is @Totherion who can lay claim to the “Toyote” motor.

The funny thing here, is that the Coyote Engine is very likely based off of The Toyota/Lexus 5.0L 2UR-GSE. The Toyote already exists.

Though it is not going to happen so I’ll just keep dreaming and describe to you all the perfect Sequoia.

    Long Wheel Base
    Selectable Auto 4wd, 4Hi, 4Lo
True Limited Slip Differential (not this electronic crap)
2nd Row Bench with the center section that is removable to make it like buckets if you wanted and have a center pass through.
    Backup Camera
No crazy infotainment just a standard double din unit that could be swapped out with an aftermarket unit with a simple harness and not $200 worth of install gear to integrate everything.
    Backup camera
    Center Console Safe
    Keypad entry
    No sunroof
    Heated and cooled Neoprene Seats
    Roll down rear glass
None of that Safety sense crap
    18” wheels with 33” tires

Simplicity is perfection. Not all this overloaded technical crap that makes vehicles silly expensive and more crap to break.

Lol that would be funny. Sadly, the Coyote is just the final iteration of the modular V8, evolution of the old 4.6 V8. Everyone always said Toyota copied RAMs 5.7 just because the displacement matched.

IMO, this is a more of technology thing, than a displacement comparison... though the bore and stroke are very close between the two engines. The Tundra 5.7 is a larger version of the 5.0... folks comparing either to the Hemi is silly as they are very different engines. Back to Toyota or Ford, I'm always open to changing my mind when given new info, right now I lean towards Ford adapting (adopting?) Toyota and Yamaha tech for their for the modular V8.

    This thread is awesome..

I have a 2017 Tundra and a 2020 Ford Mustang Bullitt with Gen 3 Coyote.

Other than both being double overhead cam V8 with vpt on each camshaft there's a very little other similarity between the two.

Looking forward to seeing the reveal on the Sequoia tomorrow and definitely hoping that they up the towing capacity. That would put it perfectly in my range.

Still no more teaser pics released. Watch them release the rest of them after the reveal .

Toyota needs a better PR team.

Edit - they are probably scared of another pic allowing a perfect render?

I checked again this morning and had that same thought. haha. figured they'd show up tomorrow or next week. i wonder if the guy that worked for that toyota dealership that released the pics of the 3rd gen tundra pre-emptively would be willing to release these too (assuming they trust him enough to release them to him lol)

I'm keeping an eye on TFL. No clue where Toyota wants you to go for the "official" reveal.

Like I said, their PR team needs help.
