Hybrid Unit Leak

I have a 2023 Hybrid 1794. About 6-8 months ago, I noticed reddish oil in my garage were I park. Crawled underneath and noticed reddish oil leaking. Brought to dealership and as the OP stated, it was the electric motor (between motor and trans) that was leaking. Dealership said Toyota recommended changing the entire electric motor, so that's what they did. Gave me a loaner Tundra and it took about 8-10 days.

Funny how I had this issue on my '22 that I traded due to lot of problem. Didn't think it would be an issue again.

Surprise, my '23 with about 11k miles on it has a similar issue, spot of oil on the driveway and crawled under the truck to find oil leaking between Hybrid motor and transmission.

I wiped the oil on the transmission/motor in the pictures... Will be calling dealer Monday morning.

He seemed agitated that he had to deal with a customer, and it wasn’t my attitude, I was polite and simply wanted details about what happened. Every time I asked a question his demeanor worsened. The answers I got were vague and it got to the point where I knew he wasn’t going to provide much information. Very frustrating. Then I asked if he could take the charge off the invoice for the requested oil change. He asked if I bought the truck there and I told him no, your sales staff couldn’t find one I wanted, but I have purchased three new Toyota’s and two used vehicles over the years from his dealership. I also told him they had my truck for 28 days waiting for parts. Wow, he gave me $15 off! A$$hole. I haven’t provided feedback for the service yet but other than the free inspections or warranty work they will not see another dollar from me. They are not the same dealer I had good experiences with in the past.

The hybrid unit price alone was $1787.09! I added up the prices for the other parts from an Toyota online parts dealer and the cost for the parts for this repair came to $2,036.67. Parts only, no labor. The invoice for the repair follows. There was an oil change and they performed the trans recall, which was only a software update. They were still waiting for parts for the fuel line recall. Note that the tech stated it is a “known issue.” Oh, the tech also sat in the white leather drivers seat and got oil/grease on the seat back. I didn’t see it until the next day. Fortunately it came off with leather cleaner.

Has the replacement hybrid unit fixed the issue?

I see that the unit on your invoice is replaced by a new one.
