    This is true, I remember they were predicting land fall for Hugo all up the coast till it hit Charleston. Keep predicting till it hits you might win. T
    I think this will skirt up the coast, lots of damage. I'd be moving inland if i weren't already inland.

    Yeah the humidity in FL really is a bugger. Climate in parts of CA 100% better. But, in LA dodging human feces on the sidewalk (and on Manhattan Beach too) is a pain as well.

    I was in Columbia when Hugo hit, it turned north just as it started to tear things up in Columbia that night... we got lucky.

    Hopefully (by now) everyone are in safe places and ready for whatever this storm decides to do.
    However, there is always a percentage who feel they are invincible and will make a party out of it.

    But we know how the media works by now;

    Initially: “Florida oh my God you guys are fucked” (people run to the store, buy everything, news covers that too as well as preparation by local folks);

    A few days later: “It has shifted, Georgia I’m sorry to break the bad news” (people run to the store, buy everything, news covers that too as well as preparation by local folks);

    A few days after that: “Carolinas, you guys better get ready and hunker down, it’s coming” (people run to the store, buy everything, news covers that too);

    And then a few days later: “East Coast from Virginia to Mass, you all will see large amounts of rain/flooding and winds from this, DO NOT discount it just because it’s now a tropical depression”....

    Having lived in the Carolinas for 30 years, we see these threats every year. Thankfully a guy a few doors down is a meteorologist and gives me the real story with no drama. As a logical family, we always stay prepared every hurricane season by watching the Weather Underground radar updates and predictions whenever something is churning, talking to my “source” to get good info, fueling everything up two days out, and not getting a clouded head by the hysteria created by the news. Pantry is always stocked, we both legally carry so protection is good to go, gas generator and Stihl Farm Boss are ready to roll.

    Ok cool, sister lives in Hermosa. The homeless are taking over LA, Venice, Manhattan Beach (tents on the beach), and slowly headed towards Hermosa. While they’re at two different parts of the state, I was in San Fran in November and it literally is a shit hole...human shit and needles on the sidewalks.

    Check out the twitter handle “LAVagrants”....

    Understood. When stuff like this starts happening, typically he’s working 12’s or even longer.

    Pretty much, especially since it takes several hours for the storm to pass by.

    Very curious about hurricanes that hit at these speeds. Will definitely be watching D slow down.. They must have models that depict degradation over dry land in average temperatures for the time of year coupled with the Category.

    Yeah, sounds like it's a relatively new thing with the homelessness. When I was there, the majority of the visible homeless in the city were on skidrow. BUT, when we leave here, we're not going back.
