Total 100% "chill" in the face of adversary? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii---------t.

Here is your winner. No stinkin' hurricane, canyon brush fire or full-frontal earthquake gonna bend his pole.

Doesn't look like this is gonna happen for FL. It's still days out and it's already turning out to the Atlantic. I'm kinda upset that I gotta go to work on Tuesday, but whatever. I'd rather be at work than cleaning up hurricane debris.

I think Dorian is going to tease the coastline up to North Carolina, and then head out East over open water. It could circle back, but most likely just go away. Kiss Dorian goodbye!

It's looking a lot like Matthew, which sucks. Should have made a right turn, but didn't.

At this size & strength it just needs to be close to shore for a few hours to cause major damage... it does not need to make landfall. Everything is predicated on this dry air mass, and it's strength. If the air mass breaks down, the storm will come inland. If the air mass remains intact, the storm will turn out to sea.

The lower the pressure the stronger the storm, the stronger the storm the less influence other weather fronts have on it. When they get really big, they tend to dominate the regional weather pattern. Moving as slow as it is, it will only grow.

It has been upgraded to Cat 5, this is one to keep an eye on, do not rely on just what you hear, hurricanes have a mind of their own and change directions at the drop of a hat they have even been known to circle back.

At this rate, it will be stronger than Camille very soon.

It's moving west at 7 mph and slowing, it may stall for a bit... it may loop back... it's definitely gaining intensity.

For those that know nothing about Camille.
I lived west of Richmond VA. when it's remnants moved East out of the Appalachians, that was a wild day.

From an educational standpoint, I'd love to see how big D runs out of gas.

40 miles? 80 miles of dry land? Why has Disneyworld never been ripped in half? Surely the castle or main street.

I understand the pull on resources within 30-40 miles but Orlando?

Pictures of people buying grocery carts of toilet paper and dog food at Costco?

Guess I have alot to learn before we retire in the big O.

Moving over land or cold water zaps them pretty quick, upper level wind shear breaks them up. But it's hard for anything to do much damage to them when they get this massive.

You're from Cali? My partner and I are from LA and we hate it in FL. She's just here for her PHd and we out. The weather is the worst thing. We used to love being outdoors. Camping, mountain biking, hiking, we used to do it all on the regular. The humidity is a REAL buzzkill. You never dry off. The sweat you sweated in the morning is still on you in the afternoon. It's extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention the bugs, lack of dirt (everything is sand) and swamp land. I only speak for myself and my partner though. You may like it. The cost of living is a lot more comfortable though.

Wife gave the green light to get a whole home generator. Anyone ever buy anything from Norwall Power Systems? They’ve got a Generac 22kw with transfer switch for $4,700. Any idea if Norwall has a discount program for military/LE?
